EK backplates work very well possibly because they are a single piece of metal making them a good heat sink.
I would not recommend using them on an air cooled card though.
Thought I'd show off my backplates. Definitely makes the card sexier.
Considering ordering a backplate.
I'm not currently at my PC at the moment but does the warranty sticker need to be removed (voided) to install the backplate? also I'm assuming you use the screws already screwed to the PCB?

EK waterblocks are very easy to fit, the only drawback is the manual which has got to be the very worst I have seen in a long time.
When you fit the EK waterblocks remember to undo the 2 bigger screws on the output bracket to get the old cooler off. The manual I got with my blocks forgot about this lol.
Once fitted the EKWB blocks do look nice.

Thanks for the info ill make sure to undo the screws before removing the cooler I managed to get the waterblock and backplate for another company so hopefully i have them fitted for Tuesday

No the sticker isn't affected and they supply screws to replace the ones in the card

I'm pretty sure it's knocked off 5c at least but only tried one game so far.

Motherboard may need a flash to the latest bios?
Oh god, the last time I tried that was in 2007 and I ended up with a dead board Asus refused to give a rats bum about. :/ Might have to see how it's done now.

Is that the Windows Software package? Should I use that, or the Bios update in the BIOS itself?

Should it even be needed these days anymore, given that the X99 systems are so new. I'd expect it on something old than a few years now.

Well the TX was likely released after your motherboard was so yes sometimes it is needed.
