The Witcher 3 Benchmarks

Off to a great start. My GOG version wouldn't launch, installed a few days ago and just added the patch.

Oh well uninstalling and now reinstalling, the joys of PC gaming lol. It better work this time. We got it ordered on PS4 digital (Got PC version for free) and I'm playing that while trying to sort PC probs lol.

It looks really really good on PS4.. Sometime I wander why I bother with PC gaming at all :p

Where was this benchmark taken because having just played a bit on my 980 with it all maxed inc hairworks at 1080p, I find their numbers a bit on the low side.

So

5930k @ 4.4Ghz
Titan X SLI
3840x2160
Ultra
Hairworks on
HBAO+

40-60fps depending on the scene.

The movie sequences run at 27fps for some reason.

And the stupid client has installed the game on my slow HDD, not my SSD and I don't think the GOG think allows you to move it after the fact.

Could it be because when the game is on a console it plays into a TV hence the low fps on movies.

I sometimes see this in other games too.

SLI scaling is 95%+ on Titan X's

Edit - Managed to move it to my SSD. Pretty painless really.

Same FPS but feels so much smoother now. I never play games off mechanical hard drives and now I remember why.

So it seems the initial benchmarks from that German website we where looking at yesterday where inaccurate.

At the moment all max everything at 1200p on a single 970. (3570k cpu) And it 'seems' to be running very nicely.

Some 4k screenshots with Afterburner OSD:

Edit - Ignore VRAM usage. MSi Afterburner can't read it properly in Windows 10.

Got it working in the end by using GOG client app thingy.

You can re direct it to wherever you want to install the game to in case are wandering.

Game looks really nice on PC. Compared to PS4 side by side lol, PS4 looks amazing tbh, different lighting to PC, lacks some of the more subtle lighting effects, seems to have less NPC's. That aside PS4 version is very good. PC just slightly better, nicer AA, foliage looks nicer, lighting is better.

With everything on Ultra and post setting set to high (Max) and HBAO+ enabled. Nice and smooth gameplay 60fps @ 1080P. Titan X + 4790K.

For some reason the game defaults to borderless full screen instead of fullscreen.

Only did first couple of side quests, but looking around etc took me well over an hour already. I can see this game taking me weeks/months/years to play through.

Awesome so far.

Xfire performance should be fantastic if they can just get rid of the damn flickering. Using afr I'm actually noticing pretty awesome scaling but just way too much insanity with the flicker. lol

Well my kaf2 980s in sli with everything on ultra and hair works on is scoreing between 54-67 fps at 1440p. Both cards seem to run at above 92 % usage which make them heat up like a bitch

Had to turn my 110 core oc off to try and keep the temps under 80!

Wow, played this game a bit last night and it runs like crap!

I have to use medium on a 780, even setting one slider to high or ultra seems to slow it to a crawl. Something seems off, the game is detailed but not THAT detailed.

I thought I was getting stutter , turns out the slow walk animation the horse does seems to stutter , feels horrid . Gallop and all goes away . They need to sort that it feels rank

Keep everything on ultra but Foliage Visible Range on high. Small difference but big impact on performance.
