Have to say, never really visited this sub-forum much until this week,
the amount of bickering over products we don't even have full details of yet is quite comical :p

Why is it when it come to hardware vendors we can't stay nice and objective? :)

The truth of the matter is that if Nvidia GPUs were the same price/performance ratio as AMD, every single AMD fanboy/fangirl would be running to get on the green team.

I've had AMD cards in the past was satisfied with performance but the heat (crossfire) and driver issues (crossfire again) were beyond what I would call acceptable.

Note: I go with whatever is better performance wise and hope AMD slam dunk the TX and GTX980Ti. If 8Gb+ and better performance I will be tempted to change again if crossfire drivers start getting better.

Because we get insulted for being cheap :(

mmj_uk question for you special one!

If I choose to buy HTC one M9 over latest Apple Iphone does that make me Cheap?

In your book you must buy all the latest and greatest? 10 mill house, fastest car on the planet? No?? Cheapskate

Computex: AMD Fiji aka Fury X slower than GeForce GTX 980 Ti

Computex today was good to us, as Hardwareluxx was able to have a look at the first "Fiji" graphics card from AMD. A partner of AMD allowed us to take a look at the graphics card, including the cooler, which we were able to take off. As if that wasn't enough, some technical specifications were leaked to use. AMD internally calls the card Fury X, yet it remains to be seen if it will hit the market under the name, too.

No different to what flopper does but nobody seems to call him out.

Flopper is so out there though that you know not to take his prophecies of AMD global dominion or whatever it is seriously. His part time counterpart would be Lambchop. Flopper exudes infatuation while Lambchop despises AMD. They are at least a little entertaining to read in their delivery. mmj's are not.

Am I the only one in here who will admit to being a cheapskate, and proud of it?!

Proud of it also. More money to spend on other stuff I enjoy.

For all we know this could just be fud to generate more 980 Ti sales in the wake of the Fiji release..

I hope this isn't true as it makes for a very boring year until a die shrink.. Although the flip side is my Titan X is looking like a solid bet right now.

It doesn't need to beat the 980 Ti or Titan X.
But if it doesn't, the pricing can't be silly.
Although I don't personally think AMD can price high even if they do reach performance parity, for their support/image this year has been dire.

Certainly won't be the death of AMD.

But AMD are viewed as the value option (Which is probably why every time they've priced pretty high, well, it's not done that well), I don't see why people are getting their panties in a mess over it.

Floppers posts are entertaining? They're barely even coherent at the best of times. Some people may find mmj's posts entertaining, doesn't make it right. Also if you'd read floppers posts you would easily see he despises nVidia as well. It's just laughable when people get defensive when it's happening against their brand but when it's going the other way they completely ignore it.

It seems the 3 strike rule only gets used if a thread gets massively derailed, the odd baiting/trolling posts just get completely glossed over.

The partner did hint at the performance. Apparently the Radeon Fury X ought to be slower than the GeForce GTX 980 Ti
They ain't at computex with these GPU's, AMD put a ban of partners showing the 390X/Fury as AMD have their own event for that in a couple of weeks.

two 8-pin connectors are installed on the card
The Leaked pictures show it to have 8+6 pin power connectors.

Andreas Schilling < is this guy for real? if so then its not going to sell for much more than £400

:( Sounds like they are really struggling to make something that is faster than the 980Ti without making it run ridiculously hot or draw a huge amount of power.

It sounds like a made up load of ******** which no-one else has ever reported, by a low-traffic site with no history of scoops or breaking news is inventing stuff for views :'(
