Hey guys, here's my MSI 980Ti 6g. Really impressed with the noise levels and the coil whine is very minimal too compared to my MSI 280x which was quite bad for it. If anyone is thinking of getting the MSI card and has any questions just ask.

"It is the way to set your max stable oc to the last clock of the boost table, and then setting all values in the voltage table that are LARGER than your max allotted (or available) voltage to your max allotted (or available) voltage. In other words: You would then adjust the voltage table because if you do NOT, the entire voltage table is not being used. Here just an example: Some cards are voltage limited and can only supply a max of 1.212V (which is plenty, by the way). HOWEVER, example, say, in your voltage table, CLK73 has 1275.0V -1281.3V. It would never jump to this entry since this voltage is already far out of range of your available voltage! By adjusting those values which are HIGHER than your max voltage you make it so that your entire voltage table is actually available."

This also cinfirms my thoughts that the card could never boost to 74.

Are you using ref card varkanoid or amp? I suspect ref as amp bios should bevidentical to mine which would suggest amp is more limited than ref for some reason.

Look at you voltage minimum for entry 74 on your bios. I suspect it is below or at 1250mv mine is at 1281mv which is a voltage i cant provide to the card without a bios edit. I suspect they closed off those entries for a reason but why.....

I've been using it since Thursday just no forum access till tonight. Was fine till the early hours was boosting the fans a bit and its started to rattle. I'm going to take it back out me rig and hope something is loose. I was running on max fans for about 15mins when it started. I love the card also so would rather not send it back

Definitely take it out the rig and investigate!

ref card. My 74 is 1281mv.
I see what you mean about voltage locked now. Everytime I look at the Bios Tweaker it usually gives me a headache figuring it out again.
However its not really limiting my overclock to what I like to achieve. At the moment its doing 1429mhz with 1.19v which I think is pretty good.
Altering the slider in Afterburner only lets me add +87mv which shows as 1.23v max so its possibly Afterburner first limiting me.

Mine seems to of started to have some issues. Was absolutely flawless Friday and Saturday but today I have noticed a lot of problems particularly in BF4 and GTAV.

In GTA the frames keep dropping to single figures where as before I was getting rock solid 60 with vsync. Went onto BF4 earlier and I was struggling to maintain 70fps on 48+ player servers. Although I did have a go at BF4 CTE on friday and was easily well over 100fps on dragon valley.

The only thing I did change was the dynamic super resolution option to give that a go. Since turned it off but the problems persist. Any ideas?

Just been reading them over the weekend. Really like the monitor when it works but yeah took the chance of the b grade special and looks like it's not going to work out for me. Just wondering what to get to replace it g-sync is looking great to help with lower framerates.

Wish had more time to use my cards. Hating my job lately. Just sucking up so much of spare time - even so far as been sick over weekend, but still been working today :(

Still, managed a bit of time on arkham knight, and even though it could be better optimised, still enjoyable, and not experiencing a lot of crashes.

Hey Varkanoid how is the Samsung U28D590 you have compared I was looking at one of them but thought the acer with g-sync was a good idea when I bought it from looking at the recent reviews on the shop page. Looks like I was so wrong.

Question for Spok or any other MSI non ref owners - bit of an odd one, but how easy do you think it would be to hide/paint the red parts of the cooler? I like MSI cards but being a bit picky as I would prefer a gold/yellow and black design to go with the rest of my case.
