Cheers guys, really like this card. Had a long play on Witcher 3, max temp was around 55C. Other games like Planetary Annihilation Titans, BF4, it sits at around 45C / 48C. The cooler does a really good job.

I've got the MSI 6G and it's stunning. At the moment I'm running with v-sync and will be sure to get a g-sync monitor at some point but with moving house, I can't really afford it. Really impressed though.

Deal silent and nothing but pure power eating every single game I run! Batman Arkham Knight, Borderlands 2, Dying Light, BF3 & BF4!
 
I've brought a couple of EVGA 980ti hybrid coolers for my Ref cards, what sort of clocks and temps should I expect. A with a quick look does 1450mhz core and around 45c load temp sound about right ?

Inno3d GTX 980 Ti x3 Ultra failed a few hours ago just went off whilst playing Mad Max with no warning as well :eek: luckily all my other components are fine. Took me over 4 hours to diagnose as had to replace everything as I could not believe the GPU would fail after 6 weeks light use :(

Now the wait for an RMA number from OCUK tomorrow it still smells of smoke so hopefully will not take long to replace!

Wow that is unlucky :(. On a side not OCUK are really good with RMA and will probably send you a new card straight away once they receive it.

Hope so it must just be a rogue card but it worked fine for the last 6 weeks in hotter ambient air temps than now & Mad Max is not even a demanding game :(

Having fun finding the limits of my card so far. Core seems to boost well: stable at 1401MHz at 110% power, 75% temp and fan target (I set a custom fan curve with 1:1 temperature and fan speed %)

As before, my memory sucks and wouldn't go above +250 MHz = 7.5GHz total (am jealous of all the people with 8GHz memory but since half a GHz gave me such a small boost I guess that only helps at regulations above 1080p).

Funnily enough I am now limited by fan noise. My PC is lovely and quiet up to fan speed of 60% but is noticeable at 70%. If I leave the fan speed at 65% the temperatures slowly climb whilst running benchmarks so I have to stick to the fan curve.

So whilst I could clock the card higher I am tempted to leave it at stock since I can already run Witcher 3 with a locked 60fps and all details on max, in game AA enabled.

What do you guys think?
 
Benching and gaming are two different things, if a game is locked at 60fps and that is your monitors refresh rate then it doesn't really matter what your clocks are just get the fan speed down to what you are happy with

For benching stick the fans on 100% and see what that puppy can do, but be warned it will get addictive and you will start eyeing up water cooling :D
 
Yeah, you are right. Honestly, I doubt I could hear the 75% fans over the game's background noise anyway.

Haven't got many up to date benchmarks but could try 100% fan with 110% power and try overvolting and seeing how firestrike, valley and heaven do.

Also, my ASIC is 71.9, so not sure if it is worth trying to get a super high score on air...

I have the Palit 980 Ti Super Jetstream and was wondering if there are any cooling alternatives available? I was hoping to downsize to ITX but apparently this card is simply too monstrous for practically any ITX case (barring something massive like the Core X1).

Some outlets claim it sticks to the Nvidia reference 980 ti PCB design, others say it's custom.

Any advice?
