Boomstick777 One question Does it Clock

As atm it is card i would go for even tho i got custom loop i just see no point of messing about with block since all 980tis hit OC wall around 1500-1550 by what i see. So this AIO thing would do me since MOAR cooling power for my CPU left with external rad

Quick question: are you guys overvolting your GTX980Ti cards to get these overclocks on air? I found that with power target at 110% and the core at stock I couldn't push the memory above +250mhz(7.5GHz).

Is overvoltage ok for a 24/7 overclock? Will try pushing the core later as the memory OC hardly had any effect on performance (4207 to 4283 in Valley with basically the same min and max fps)

Over volting only affects the core not the memory and a memory overclock will not give you much in FPS, some games maybe an extra 5 frames or so others nothing. Upping the core to maximum is your best bet and then the memory to what ever it will do.

Question for Inno3D Hybrid users: Do you have to connect that Molex? Any pump noise? I think I'll get that card if they take the HoF back.

Its not sat at 40% power all the time is it? Cant you set the fans not to come on at all untill 60c something like that?

Afterburner is nothing compared to a custom bios

. So its not really overvolted, Would tend to run a bit better though.

Well I’ve had my G1 for a couple of months now, great card but I don’t think I’m able to get the best out of it yet.

On Afterburner I have it set up for +60v, %120 power, clock with +128 and mem +325, Which boosts to 1533mhz. On the same power and voltage settings I can get it up to +150mhz and +495 on the memory but some games, Arma3 mainly, doesn’t like it.

Current issue is I have the fans running at 70-75% to keep the card between 70 – 74c. Fan speed goes any higher and the sound becomes seriously obnoxious, lower and I start hitting too many thermal ‘walls’ and lose my OC anyway.

New case this weekend so we'll see if I'll have either the thermal room to push it a bit harder or at least get fans below 50% (where they are inaudible)

same card here, i can add 130% power , not adding any voltage, add 155mhz , but case fans i need to have fast to keep it boosted, you not getting much extra anyway

i have a side case fan which made a lot of difference i settled at 1500mhz boost and 8000mhz on memory which is more better for everyday and temp and noise is better and its more then enough

Just did a 3DMark 11 run, card topped out 1512Mhz. Not sure if power target / voltage is making higher clocks unstable. Need more time with the card to tweak it. Wandering if my PSU (520W) could be a limiting factor, 5930K @ 4.6Ghz..

Games not liking X clock is nothing unusual. I can get mine up to 1560 for benchmarks, but playing games at that would not happen.

Most people (myself included) settle for 1500MHz~ on the core and 2000MHz on the memory. The extra 30MHz on the core will not make a blind bit of difference in games, pop your clocks to that and game on. :cool:

Great score Boom. Card looks great to, AIO hybrid coolers definitely look the way to go with controlling temperature whilst reducing noise levels.

Do you really mean 2000MHz on the memory? Surely it is + several hundred MHz or 7000-8000mhz total :confused:
