I have a wet vac but When I used it on the seats it was summer and I could leave the windows open in the sun and it dried out quickly. This time of year it will probably stay wet and go mouldy.

Guys Im picking up a new car in 2 weeks and I want to give it a basic wash to see it through the winter months abit. Is there any product that is like a wash and wax that actually works? Its too cold here in Germany to be faffing about with it too much and its law I cannot do it outside my house. Come the spring I will give it a full going over but for now whats the best wash and wax?

Washed it last Saturday (as it was due it's MOT and service on Monday), by Wednesday...

Anyone braved cleaning their cars today? :p

I use country roads every day and my car is very filthy :p

Mines sort of cleanish and I've been using it today. Oddly for a white car it sort of hides the dirt well. However, I did wash it last weekend and its sat in the garage all week. :p

I've ordered the following lance and foam. I didn't want to spend too much and I'm not "into" detailing, just want to clean the car more effectively. I'll report back :)

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CHERRY-CA...CLEANING-USE-ON-ANY-LANCE-CLEAN-/141578844281 (good reviews on amazon - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Litre-Pro-Kleen-Professional-Cherry-Snow/dp/B00T7YYP7O )

I got the same lance, and it's exactly the same as those sold by Cleanyourcar etc, just at a sensible price.

As for foam the only one I've used is Magifoam. It's very effective, but can strip wax/sealants in my experience.

Finally got round to trying this out today. Even with my cheapo Halfords pressure washer, I got a thick foam which sat on the car for a while and slowly ran off, once I'd figured out the right settings on the lance :)

I went for a 300ml foam concentrate, topped up the litre bottle with water, which I found was way too much for 2 cars - I guess I'll have to experiment.

Quick rinse with the pressure washer on a wide nozzle and I was done :)

Wasn't sure what to expect - I wouldn't say the cars are clean, but it certainly cleaned the salt etc off, which is what I wanted. In the summer, I presume it'll get the thick of the muck off and i'll need to hand wash afterwards.

I'm no expert, but I'm happy with the results. It's got to be better than the car wash for winter cleaning!

Snow foam is a pre-wash. Designed to take the heavy stuff off so you run less risk of scratches/paint damage whilst making the hand-washing part easier.
