Actually, snow foam is designed for whatever you want it to do.

It can do the following depending on what chemical you use:

Touchless Wash to remove the majority of grime and the LSP
Pre wash to remove some grime
Pre lube when about to do double bucket

It can also be used to spray liquid wax which you leave on the car and then begin the drying process.

If you have a decent coat of wax on then you can pretty much just snow foam and rinse just about any amount of dirt off. Did it today on a filthy car and it looks almost as good as when I did a full detail.

All I did was a thick coat, left it for 5 minutes then rinse off.

Interesting, I had only read about it being used as a prewash. Thanks for the correction :)

"LSP"? Also, whats the difference between pre-wash and pre-lube? Surely both accomplish the same thing?

LSP = Sealant or wax.

Some people use it as a pre-wash with the mindset of spray in on, pressure wash off to remove as much grime and then follow up with a mitt.

Some people use it as a pre-lube to have extra lube whilst doing the mitting to avoid swirls. These people usually snow foam the car, spray off and refoam and then begin their mitting.

I personally don't care about swirls so I spray snow foam on, go direct on with a mitt without any buckets, mitt the entire car and then spray off. That way you're not messing around with buckets and you get a totally clean car at the end of it.

The car without wax I use a strong snow foam that acts as a wheel cleaner also, the car with wax I use a neutral foam and a dedicated wheel cleaner before hand. I use a ever so slightly acidic cleaner on the wheels meaning I don't have to touch them to clean them up.

Sometimes I use snowfoam as shampoo, and indeed in the case of MaxiSuds, it is also a shampoo, so foam it on, then let it settle for a couple minutes and then go to town with your washmit with the foam still on there unless the bodywork is seriously filmed up with grime, in which case some rinsing required first.

Depends on how dirty ot is. If it's light then it doesn't matter. Plenty of lubrication to not cause issues from a thick foam anyway.

I bought brand new maguires clay, first use it was fine, second use it seems to be sticky and leaves residue, even the new part I didn't use and left in the wrapper.

Any thoughts?

Gave it a good detail today. No point applying proper wax in winter so it has been Sonaxed up real good.

Agreed. I've just been outside and cleaned mine. Never seen water bead so much on a car and i've only treated it with that Sonax Xtreme Brilliant shine stuff 3 times over the last 6 weeks. I must have built up a few layers of it by now which is why it is beading like a trooper.
