Hi there,
I received a new Nilfisk pressure washer for Christmas and now wish to purchase a snow foam lance + snow foam.
Please can I get recommendations and where is best to get it from?

Thanks

Autobrite snowlance from Amazon - price fluctuates a lot, £50 top end, but often comes down to £20 or so. I use Autoglym snowfoam, but it isn't the best out there. It is the most gentle on my HD wax though.

Hi,

I've just cleaned my car and there is brake dust that I cannot remove from the front wheels no matter how hard I scrub them. I had some Auto Glym wheel cleaner in the garage so tried that and it helped a bit but a lot still remains

Any tips on how to clean off the baked on brake dust?

Thanks

I've ordered the following lance and foam. I didn't want to spend too much and I'm not "into" detailing, just want to clean the car more effectively. I'll report back :)

I got the same lance, and it's exactly the same as those sold by Cleanyourcar etc, just at a sensible price.

As for foam the only one I've used is Magifoam. It's very effective, but can strip wax/sealants in my experience.

I feel like there's some wax on my windows! front is very bad, rear is bad but sides are ok(or I don't notice it as much) !

I've tried glass cleaner, did not take it off.. I've tried some hardcore wipes.. did not clean it off either! what else is there to try? if I rub it with a finger it cleans up and feels greasy/waxy so I'm guessing it's some left over wax from a car wash or something?

wiper blades struggle with it in rain too hence the need to clean it off.

what would you lot recommend I do? any strong/good glass cleaner?

Have you tried vinegar?

Actually how about washing up liquid as it gets rid of grease?

I've tried degreaser wipes which are capable of wiping off wet paint, grease etc but that still sticks to it! :o reading online acetone/nail polish remover is worth trying, I'm just wondering if it's going to mess up with my rain sensor/light sensors..

Tried a claybar and IPA/Panel wipe? Polish with CarPro CeriGlass / Gtechniq G4 / Glass polish of your choice will shift it. Clean the glass with glass cleaner after polishing.

Added to my car cleaning and detailing supplies quite substantially today... :p

Previously I just had a bucket, the mitt, shampoo, and turtle wax cheap polish stuff (featured in picture...)

My nilfisk is ready, just waiting on some garden hose connectors, need to buy snowfoam lance, seen one on Amazon for around £22, and some valet pro pH neutral and I'm joining the snow foam club

I had the same issue, my car had been detailed so many times before I purchased it that there was a lovely build up of wax, well, everywhere. I found that vinegar on my wiper blades, and then vinegar soaked cloths on the windscreen helped an awful lot. I also found that frequent and extended use of the washer fluid on the rear window and "excessive" wiping cleared that pretty quick.

I figure this is a good place to ask, not technically cleaning - But has any one had any good results from the doctor color chips kits? my front bonnet and wings are a mess literally the worse amount of stone chips i have seen on a car ever, is it worth buying this kit or just save the money to have a respray?

I have no experience of doctor color chip kits to comment. However there is one or two guides on detailing world about filling in stone chips without the need for a respray to maybe check them out.

yea i have seen a few guides and videos and seems to be mixed reviews, so struggling to make my mind up, i dont think i will be happy with the results, so will just save to have the front fully resprayed rather then spending £60 on touch up and not being happy.

just be careful of rust if you leave it too long

no sign of rust, and i have had the car a few years now and the stone chips have been their since i bought the car, car is washed and waxed every sunday. Also the worst area the bonnet, is aluminum, so i guess that wont rust? But my rear arches are much the same as the bonnet, loads of stones chips, i think a previous owner must have lived down a graveled road or something!

Looking at all the pictures and discussions of waxing products and similar I think this thread may the wrong end of car cleaning for me but I will ask anyway.

My car was 2nd hand and the previous owner had a dog that ran all over the car. When I got it I vacuumed and brushed out as much of the hair as I could. I also used some general cleaner in water in a spray bottle and sprayed all the seats and then used a wet vac and plain water to get as much out as possible.

It got the visible dirt of the seats and reduced the smell but it hasn't gone completely.

Obviously with the current season and weather I can't do anything that will leave the seats or carpet too wet as it will probably go mouldy before it dries.

I didn't do that much to the carpets on my last attempt so I want to have a go at those.

Has anyone got any suggestions for effective ways or products for cleaning the carpet and seats that doesn't involve too much water? I also don't want something that will just cover up the smell and leave the car smelling like a cheap perfume factory.

thanks
