Ok I disabled turbo with Realtemp so the cpu only runs at 4GHz.

The results :

i7 4790K@4GHz
290X OC to 1171MHz/1450MHz : gfx score = 18205.........physics score = 10264

i7 [email protected]
290X OC to 1171MHz/1450MHz : gfx score = 18204..........physics score = 11383
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/11299483

290X stock (1030MHz/1250MHz) : gfx score = 16343.........physics score = 11568
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/11299533

(i7 4770 @ 3.8GHz)
RX480 stock (1266MHz/2000MHz) : gfx score = 18060......physics score = 9109
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/11263084

Looks like the cpu clockspeed didnt make any difference above 4GHz.

Thanks - not far off a 1171MHZ R9 290X!!

Are you people amazed that the performance difference between your 2/390/X - 970/80 and a 980TI or TX is not massive?

:p

Especially for the last few years IMO the price vs performance jumps at the top end is not really that spectacular. Probaly why a mid and low range cards sell more but its always nice to see the boys and their shiney toys :p

Did you mix up the 970 and 980 scores mate? Cos that sure looks the wrong way round to me. Anyhow, what's the consensus on the current score for the RX 480 itself? Some places I hear it's 15k something and other places I hear it's around 18k.

It appears to be around 18k. And those gtx 980/gtx970 seem normal to me considering the core clocks on both.

Poor 780Ti, if I remember correctly it was double the price of a R9 290 :D

Like Toss3 said, gotta look at the clocks.IT is what I got.
Also from the leaked slides If true the one I was looking at was just above 18K GPU score but who knows what the clock was.Can not go by 3dmark11 tells you.

It could be RX480 stock is 15k+ GPU score and OC RX480 18K+ GPU score and that would shock a lot of people and just watch the forums then with the hate.

Yes the 780ti was double the price of R9 290 but when mining was going on you had to look for the deals on R9 290.
Nvidia fans would get ugly. When I would post R9 290 against 780Ti in Single/Crossfire/SLI scores where R9 290 was faster.

I guess just like on June 29 2016 you will be able to buy 2xAMD cards that's cheaper and as fast or faster than Nvidias top card.
