monkey pants you ask if the chian is too long, it is on the granny/pixie ring as you will, and 3rd or 4th on the cassette so the chain will look too long in those positions. It is rare really for the chain to be in such a position, if you are riding in the granny ring and need to go up in gear to 3 or 4 then really first gear and the middle chain ring would be best.

Hehehe, the forks pretty much are rigid. They're what I imagine riding with ETA is like. They're not immensely heavy so I'll keep them on for a bit... I'll get myself some slicks though.

Mag00: I'll have a proper look today, but both bikes are in the same gear (1-4) and the sprockets are the same size, yet the Deore cage is pointing more towards the ground than the XT which is what has confused me.
