Anyone else get atifacts when putting the PCI-E bus upto 100Mhz ?

I set it all up for overclocking, and it was stable playing HL2, but in BF2 I was getting little black squares flickering across the screen.

I took the overclocks off and they were still there, so I set the bios back to optimized defaults and they went away.

PCI-E bus is set to auto, but I don't know what it set's itself at on auto ?

2 quick questions, is anyone having problem overclocking the Pro's with anything after the 6.11 cat release? The screen repeatedly flickers.

Does the Thermalright HR-03 fit the 256MB Pro ok (sapphire in my case)? Or do you need to put on some spacers?

what are you overclocking it with and how are you doing it? like people have said, these cards can be quite tricky

I've just bought a Sapphire 1950pro AGP 512mb but I'm not sure if I should have bought the HIS X1950Pro IceQ3 Turbo, as that seems to be clocked higher.

Hows the Sapphire at overclocking? Is it a solid card. I'm not sure I should cancel my order and get the HIS version.

i've had my sapphire 512mb agp card since january and it's been rock solid. but it is a pants overclocker - no doubt about it.... :p

stock 580mhz on the gpu. maxes out at 615.... and the mem clocks from 700 => 715. not so good... but at stock it's still plenty fast enough for me - reason being i haven't got a single new game this year... :o

Cheers for that fella. I've heard the overclocking issue is down to the drivers.

Anyway, what sort of speed boost would I see if I went for the HIS version. I know the mem is clocked at 1540mhz and the Sapphire 1400mhz. About 5% difference? or more?

Well I had the rev1 HIS card which failed like most of the others and the replacement rev2 that came through a week ago has a rattly fan so it all depends what you're willing to put up with.

TRIPLEX Para-souls X1950PRO

Does anyone know anything about a company called TRIPLEX?

I ordered what I thought were ATI made X1950 Pro's . . . . which look like the picture below . . .

But the boxes were from a Manufacturer I never heard of before?

TRIPLEX Para-souls X1950PRO

The boxes were sealed so I have no way of knowing if there were the sleek red X1950 Pro's in the first pic, but having looked at the TRIPLEX website there is no clue as to what the card looks like or indeed what type of cooler it uses? (some of the coolers on their range look ****).

Lol oh well I just RMA'ed them back! :D

Hurray! finally got enough cash to buy myself a decent midrange card, been struggling with a nVidia 6600LE 256MB for the past few months so obviously any upgrade was gonna be a massive improvement!

As I already owned the X1950 Pro I felt I could get something a 'little' better so went with one of these:

£140

I still think the X1950 Pro is a good card for people with a budget less than £100 but if your looking for something that can handle higher res then the 512MB Powercolour card offers great value, almost £100 cheaper than an nVidia 8800GTS 640MB (which I wanted of course but I can't afford one!).

Just playing through Doom 3 for the first time, everything maxed at 1600x1200 (inc 4xAA) and I'm getting a smooth 71.2 FPS. I just learnt how to set it up for play at 1920x1200 and with everything maxed (4xAA) its still a playable 61.0 FPS :)

Amazing Visuals and a dam scary game lol! :D

ive got an import card made by Colorful on a non reference design board, anyone know of any coolers with 2 mounting points for the x1950 as i only have 2 mount holes and current coolers only uses 2....
