Are City really better individually?

I keep reading this on here, but are they?

Here is a stupid way of comparing them..

Based on today's teams, I have put the player in bold who I believe is the better player, italic suggests theres no real winner (i.e. Both as poor/good as each other). Each line compares with the same line on the other team (i.e Valencia vs. Milner, Young vs Nasri etc).

De Gea
Rafael
Ferdinand
Evans
Evra
Valencia
Carrick
Scholes
Young
Rooney
Welbeck

Vs.

Hart
Zabaleta
Kompany
Lescott
Clichy
Milner
Barry
Y.Toure
Nasri
Aguero
Balotelli

This would be 6-3 to United. Richards would Get City another point if he played, but then so would Vidic. Silva would get City another point, Tevez too possibly, but then so would Nani over Nasri if he came in, and I was kind to Zabaleta as well. Players like Johnson, K.Toure, Dzeko, De Jong, Giggs, Hernandez and Smalling don't change much as far as I'm concerned.

Some may argue with Evans and Carrick but on form they have been better as far as I'm concerned. Please don't try and argue calamity Clichy though :)

Basically, I don't think it's as clear cut as people seem to suggest in regards to City having better players. United are the better team and have the individual talent too.

City bottled over the last month. They were unstoppable at the start of the season. They did better without Tevez and Mario causing trouble.

No other team in the world has the team spirit UTD have. City are mercenaries. Just watch them all flee when they don't win anything.

Nothing between Rooney and Aguero for me. Rooney's scored more in more games but their stats are almost identical.

Player for player I'd have City comfortably ahead though. They've just been poorly managed and disrupted by Tevez and Balotelli. Half decent manager would've walked the league with the squad they have to choose from. Edit: Conversely, I don't think there's another manager in the world that would've got more out of this United team than Fergie.

Lescott is average, more average than Evans. It's a loose comparison as stated, but the overall point is that its not as clear cut as people seem to believe on here.

Evans better than Lescott?

BWAHAHAHHAHAAHHAAHHAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!

You for real?

With comments like that I wonder if you have watched either of the Manchester teams this season. For the record, I'd change to have a Toure/Carrick midfield out of the above selection (due to Scholes' age and Barry's dearth of ability), but I agree with the others.

I have watched both all season (well whenever they have been on sky/espn and highlights) and I can say without a shadow of a soubt Lescott is better than Evans, hell you could hack off one of Lescott's legs and it would be a close call as to who I would choose first. At various points in the season manU fans have complained about how **** Evans is as well.

Toure has been phenominal this season, to say he wouldn't go into the utd first team squad is laughable.

Evans has been good for the last few months but over the season I would take lescot. Honestly though, Vidic makes them both look average.

I wouldn't worry about it too much If they don't win the title this year, They'll win it eventually, They've got too much money.

I did a very rough comparison that basically told me MC have a better back 5 (individually) but not much to choose between the front 6. Although, I haven't given it much thought and might change my mind on another day (might even pick different teams/formations).

Hart > De Gea
Richards > Rafael
Kompany > Vidic
Lescott = Whoever
Clichy/Kolarov < Evra
Barry = Carrick
Toure = Scholes
Silva = Nani
Nasri = Valencia
Tevez = Young
Aguero = Rooney
