Are City really better individually?

I still think Hart is over rated :p

Most of 'those' young goal keepers; (DeGea / Chesney mainly) is just down to personal preference, there is so little between them in terms of current ability.

I think Hart's overrated as well, but he's still a top 'keeper. Yeah, there are a few young 'keepers that I think are all at a similarly high level, and luckily the Premier League has 2 of them. (For me anyway, as I'm one of the loons that plays in the net!)

Hart's over rated, but he's English so it is to be expected! I think the standard of 'keeping has been raised this year though, I was discussing it recently actually.

Hart is some way off the group of elite keepers in World football imho, doesn't make him a bad 'keeper though.

Oh, you're one of those loons :( and you support the wrong side in Sheffield! Bad times :p

Yes, I don't play football any more though. I got rubbish, and decided to move on to another sport to be rubbish at! :(

Wish I'd carried on playing, but I found life got in the way of training, and it all went downhill. Now my nerves are an absolute wreck when I'm asked to help out! :p

I've not played in a while, but as of now I'm on a huge health kick (with being a year older) and I'm going to get back in to football, well more then the Wednesday night kick about.

What sport do you play now then?

You could have been the next flying pig! (Get it? :D)

I've been on a very slow health kick since this time last year! :p

I play Badminton once a week, and do ~45 miles a week mountain biking. I'm rubbish at both, but the mountain biking should improve with time!

Yeah I totally get it. I'm about the right shape to have been the next Kevin Pressman, as well. ;):p

So much love for 'Big Kev' :D

Ah cool, I'm starting a huge massive health kick in terms of diet, really strict, and I'll be doing more exercise. It's going to stuck, but I'm fed up.

Badminton is an awesome sport, have you tried squash? That's really good for just the once or twice a week thing.

Anyway :p this is way off topic! :D drop me a text in the morning and we can continue our discussion!

Hart is over-rated. De Gea is better.

Dea Gea - 23 Games - 85 Saves - 10 Clean Sheets - 23 Conceded
Hart - 32 - Games - 85 Saves - 13 Clean Sheets - 26 Conceded

And thats with a crappy defence in-front of De Gea.

I can't help but feel that stats are almost entirely irrelevant to goalkeepers. A save is akin to a pass for an outfield player. It might be a ball that rolls towards them at 5 miles an hour or a 40 yard screamer bound for the top corner.

Clean sheets don't always have a lot to do with the keeper. If your defence makes a howler, the keeper may have a tiny tiny chance of making a save but his clean sheets are very much in the hands of his defence.

Goalkeepers can only really be assessed by watching them play. Goalie stats reflect the defence more than the keeper.

Daft way of looking at it. Not all positions carry the same importance. The spine of the team is the most important and City edge that due to having a better midfield. UTD's midfield was struggling so much that they dragged a rusty, and out of shape, Scholes out of retirement to help them out. Given that Vidic has been out for a lot of the season they also edge that area so it's.

The reason UTD have come out on top is because of a far better manager, better team spirit and more experience at closing these things out.

Do you even watch football................Scholes is no way out of shape and i would say is better than all City midfielders and on par with Toure/Silva.

While I agree completely with everything you've said.. De Gea is still better than Hart. :p

Stats are almost entirely irrelevant for quite a few positions on the pitch, but that doesn't seem to stop people filling their dream midfields with attacking players. :p

Did you watch him in his first few games? He looked like he was about to keel over and his first touch and passing was nowhere near as good as it is now. He was excellent at the weekend but that was against 10 men and he has only played about 10 games this season so he is fresh.

Agree with Hart atm... However seeing as De Gea is just starting hopefully he should rise to the top in coming years. I think at the moment he's doing great, bar the odd mistake he can make some miracle saves :p

Rooneys all round play is on another planet to Agueros.

I don't know why people can't give the boy the credit he deserves he is an outstanding player.

rooney is better in some ways but if you asked me do i want a striker who has more skill and pace or some one who can spray a 40 yard pass id take the striker .

rooney is our best and most important player. im not hating but aguero is amazing. prior to going to chelsea id say torres was a better striker at that time too.
