Hey Neil, I've been over clocking for the past 2 days also :)


1st I made a batch file to open speedfan, prime95, realtemp and Cupid CPU-z with one double click :cool:


The results have knocked me off my feet as I'm seeing high multipliers with LOW vcore's oO

We'll start at the top even tho I worked my way up :P

5GHZ @ 1.38v: Wont boot past windows loading screen.

4.9GHZ @ 1.38v: cannot check the stability as prime95 quickly takes it to 90C (level 10 Multi steps)

4.7 @ 1.29v!: Prime stable with max temps reaching 75C (Level 6 Multi steps)

Currently at 4.6 (stable) @ a shockingly low 1.26 vcore and max temps reaching 69C and still going down in voltage.... It's got to give soon. (level 6 multi steps)

This is crazy. I'll update my rig sig soon, just need to restart the comp and try another, lower, voltage.

You can add this programs(or batch file) to your start up list ^^ you make your life even easier.

Start -> Right click on All Programs -> Open All Users -> Programs -> Start Up

Btw, nice overclock at low volts. I'm 4.6Ghz @ 1.35
 
Haha, I shouldn't have said anything... [email protected] vcoe isn't stable. worker 4 stopped working pretty quickly :)

SO... I'm going to leave it at [email protected] vcore and 69C max temps, I'm pretty damm happy about that, considering I'm on air.


ONE THING that is really bugging me is I cannot get the fans to work automatically :S I'm having to do it manually every time with speedfan qq.

Thanks, we'll see. When I say stable I mean 20 prime test stable without a worker stopping :P now I have to start leaving it running for much, much longer to see it it truely stable.

But that is the long haul now, I would'nt be surprised to see a worker stop over a few hours but I've found my 'stable' starting point!
 
Intel Burn test overnight :D

Also make sure load line is set to level 4-5, doing a burn test later and ofcause post all my settings. Haven't had a chance yet, doing other stuff
 
In simple terms it stops the voltage from dropping off and it keeps it stable under heavy load, for example on my old asrock q6600 motherboard a voltage setting of 1.45 would drop to 1.32 and lower without vdroop.

When did you purchase your motherboard and can you do me a favor, look on the motherboard and see what revision the Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3P is? Either 1.0 or 1.3

I've had my eye on this mobo for a little while as the colour scheme fits perfectly for what I want and I've been wondering what's the benefit of going with a more expensive model?

I guess its not the clocking?!

This board has SLI the cheaper version doesn't, besides this one looks better :D
 
Hmm are these new boards? I'm bit miffed with mine as its not got SLI support and very tempted to get rid of mine for once of these.

Anyone have any ideas what the main difference is between these and the ga-z68a-d3-b3, apart from of course the lack of SLI support?
