and we think our justice system is bad, this incident happened 5 years ago! If he appeals then the statute of limitations will probably have run out before it gets back to court and it'll be null and void!

I think a 6 month jail sentence is over the top for a bar brawl.
Bar brawls happen all the time in the UK and those responsible get thrown out OR get a Police caution or minor fine.

The severity of sentence may have something to do with the fact that the "other guy" involved was someone who is well connected.

Finished in the points for Jordan, ran ahead (briefly) of Schumacher, ran ahead of Hill for a while. Got into a spot of bother with Senna when he unlapped himself to have another go at Hill, and got punched even though he didn't end up costing Senna the race.

Of all the retarded things he did in his career, I wouldn't pick Suzuka '93. Brazil the next year stands out more.

My favourite Irvine memory is much more recent - the interview with Kravitz in the paddock.

I quite liked Eddie for his outspoken nature, but he is undoubtedly a bit of a moron and very different from that recent Aussie bloke who often said what he thought.
