Sonax Xtreme Wheel Rim Sealant spray is supposed to be very good, and it's only £12 a can. I have a sample pot of 1000p for the wheels over winter (£4), but if I wasn't waxing this stuff would be my next port of call. That said I have a full Gtechniq C5 kit in the detailing cubby, completely unused. I can't easily get the wheels off and put the car on stands, so I changed my mind on using it. It's an option for you to consider, just don't put it on wrong!

Got hold of the sister inlaws car today.wash quick machine polish wax and few other little things. The cars a £300 banger with free dents and lacquer peel and lots of stone chips.Never been washed as thought it was standard paint but after a wash its metallic Also some one had gone across every pannel with a Brillo pad.
Seems to come up well for 6 hours work ish including a few beers with the neighbor :)

Well I finally got chance to put all my shiny new gear to good use!

Yesterday, ten hours (got carried away, started at 10am and didn't even stop once for a drink/ciggy/pee... Then it went dark. Oops!):

BH snow foam
TBW with AG Bodywork Shampoo
BH Korrosol
Gyeon Tar
CG yellow clay (bodywork, bumpers, glass and alloys)
DA with CG Hex Green and Dodo Lime Prime
Gyeon Prep wipe down
BH DSW (bodywork, lights and bumpers)

Today, four hours:

BH snow foam
TBW with AG Bodywork Shampoo
Dry with CG Wooly Mammoth (still not impressed with it, too linty and streaky)
Second coat with BH DSW for the bodywork/bumpers/lights
FK1000p for the alloys
CarPlan Tyre Slyk for the tyre dressing (I prefer it to my Megs Endurance!)
Thorough vacuum inside
Sonax Cockpit Cleaner
Halfords Glass Cleaner

Ta da!

I need a holiday... I'll machine the front and rear screens and apply my Gtechniq C3 at some point, but tbh it looks fiddly so I might grab some Aquapel or something. Either way the flake pop is immense, the paint is practically alive and it really does (finally) look the business. I will add a third layer of wax in a few weeks (either Dodo PH or FK1000p) to make sure it's all watertight when the real weather starts kicking in, but other than that I'm happy.

Thumbs up to Lime Prime btw, which was tremendously good at removing >95% of the swirls (I think the heavy polishing green pad helped) with no hassle at all. It got rid of 100% of the awful rotary buffer trails the body shop kindly left all over the C pillars, and it also restored the glossy black trim on the B pillars to brand new. I'm in love with the stuff! It's so easy to work, stays oily for absolutely ages and you can work it a lot faster than full on polish. Hats off to Dodo, it's a good product. Now, where's my beer?...

So bought this from Aldi instore for £49.99.

It comes flat packed but didnt take long to assemble, the hardest part is drilling into the wall and making the bar it hooks onto level.

And its for the cleaning stuff.

Nice but youll still need more it becomes a addiction :)

To be fair, you get to a point where you settle on some set products and a cupboard like that is enough.

My kit is fairly simple and has been for a few years, the trio of 3M polishes, PB BH glaze and FK1000P. Then its a bottle of wheel cleaner,APC,PB Nat look interior cleaner, gliptone leather cleaners/conditioners and Megs endurance. Oh and i have a few bottles of Sonax BSD and some snow foam.

Whilst im here, can anyone reccomend some drying towels, mine are all a bit rubbish now!

Wait till you buy in bulk 5lt :p

As for towels i use Microfibre Diamond Weave Drying Towel from http://www.paragonmicrofibre.com/.
These work great but others will go with as i see it overpriced branded items that do the job.

I thought I'd give cleaning the cars properly a go today. After about 4 hours of washing, polishing and waxing this was the result..

I used AG Shampoo, Farecla G3 Clay mitt, AG SRP, Collinite 476s, AG Clean Wheels, Megs Endurance tyre dressing and AG Glass Polish. Really pleased with the results. The clay mitt was great to use and even got most of the tar off the missus's car which was coated!

Right I seem to have a perennially mucky side window rubber/protector on my passenger and drivers doors so that each and every time I put either door window down I am left with dirty marks on the glass. I have cleaned and cleaned them today but no matter I keep getting mucky lines. Any thoughts on how I might clean the external lower rubber/furry things that the windows slide down past on both doors?
