Hey everyone.

I already have one dead pixel on my samsung 32" TV and I am wondering if I have just found another one.

So was playing Amped 3 this morning when I noticed a tiny pink mark. Its always there on the snow yet when I hit pause it disappears. It doesn't show up when I'm using the PC souse or any other source (that I can tell) but I can only notice it in amped. Do you think it might be a rouge pixel in the game?

If it is a dead pixel I might phone up the place where I bought it from and ask if I can have a replacement as I am also seeing red text blur when I am browsing the forums. So that should be a good excuse to return it don't you think?

Also I should point out that even though it looks like a square pixel in the photos it is more like a small blur on my screen.

The black mark in some of the pics is just bluetac and shows where the dead pixel should be.

This is the picture of the dead pixel I already have. When I rub it it turns a plasma kind of white for a while and turns the pixels around it white. (so I won't be rubbing it again)

Cant at the mo because the camera batterys have just run down. Will do later though. But as you can see from the other pictures the blue tack isn't really near the pixel. Just gives you an idea of where it would be. Its hard to take a picture of a white screen and know where about the pixel would be.

Can you do a screen shot on the Samsung? If so, it will show up a dead pixel or sub-pixel then you could just draw a circle round it in Paint or similar and upload the image to here.

I'm still not understanding what you mean.

So press the Print Screen button on my keyboard. Paste it into a paint program. Then circle "where" the dead pixel is or are you hoping the dead pixel will come up on the pasted image?

Yes, hit the Print/screen key, open paint and paste the image. Use the crop tool to select an area of the screen where the fault is and place a circle round it so that we can see where to look, save the image to your desktop then post here. A dead pixel will show up in an image taken of the screen with the Print/screen key.

Thats what I thought you ment. If I were you I would walk away from this thread now.
Hitting print screen will not show a faulty pixel. It's not my graphics card that's the problem. It's my monitor.

There is no call for you to speak in derogatory terms to someone who is trying to help you. I assure you a screen dump will show a faulty pixel. I have done it many times over the years for friends who have had faulty pixels or sub pixels.

[Edit] The graphic card is nothing to do with a faulty pixel. It is the monitor that has a faulty pixel and a screen shot will show it.

I was going to apologise because fair enough you might not of known that a print screen will not show up a faulty pixel but you have just said you have been doing it for many years... IMO your speaking a load of bs

i wouldnt say that is a dead/lazy pixel chap, the 2 externally linked pictures (close up ones) it looks more like a graphics bug than a dead pixel. If it was dead/lazy it would show up on the same colour regardless of whether the game was paused/running

djohn - honestly mate a screenshot by pressing the print screen button on your keyboard only takes a shot of the signal being sent by the graphics card, it wont show a dead pixel.

For instance, if we go by your theory, switch your monitor off, with wires still connected, press print screen, surely that would give you a black screen capture?, but if you paste it into paint, you'll get whatever window/game etc was being sent by the graphics card.

The only way to show a dead pixel to someone else is whats been done above, take a photo of the monitor/tv.

You been drinking? :p.

You can't capture a faulty pixel with print screen, only with a photo.

lol, just because of djohn im giving this thread some stars... rofl

If it goes away when you pause the game, I'm in agreement with ljt, its a graphics bug (with the 360/that game)...
