Empire at War help thread

My empire at war was despatched today so hopefully it should arrive tomorrow, thought it wouldnt be a bad idea to have a thread to help each other out if were stuck

ive heard good things about it, im expecting it to be fun, not sure whether it will be amazing though.

im more lookin forward to the C&C First Decade collection, those were sweet games!

Not sure about this now. Few negative comments on:

Basically sounds as though the demo pretty much showed you all of what the game is about. Full release is just more units/content/locations and approx 27 single player missions.

The thing that bothered me most about the demo was that the control interface seemed to be more complex than it needed (just a simple CnC style icon interface would have been perfect).

Important PC release for Lucasarts though as if it fails to sell well could most probably be the last PC release for a while.

single player missions ? i thought the idea was that u were dumped in the galaxy and had to win ? (ie take a planet... loose 2 planets over there... play until u win, loose or get bored)

apparently it has a single player campaign for empire and rebels, a galaxy conquest mode and the multiplayer.

It turned up today, so ill give it a whirl, i picked up the new pc gamer and saw that it got 79%, so it sounds quite promising.

Nothing else on the PC in the pipeline apart from vague rumours about KOTR3 & Jedi Knight4.

Consoles are receiving more attention from them due to better sales/less piracy.

79% thats pretty much what I was expecting after playing the demo, but I think I will check it out anyway, its only a few percent out of being a good score.

We had this argument a while back about PC Gamer and PC Zone scoring, majority of us tend to trust Zone over Gamer for reviews at times.

Will still buy it and wait and see what mark Zone gives it.

yeah i do no gamer have really gone down in a lot of peoples estimates in recent years, they seem to have some right gimps writing for them nowadays.

I found the reviews vary so much I couldn't decide which magazine was closer to the mark. I just go by the collective score at www.gamerankings.com now.

My copy has been posted and should hopefully be here tomorrow. I liked the demo and am looking forward to playing the full game, looks like it could be another love it or hate it Star Wars game going by the reviews. Be a change from playing BF2 and Guild Wars all the time anyway.

Looking forward to playing it tomorrow night.

Enjoyed the demo - even though there was a few little issues it seemed very good - especially the galactic conquest mode.
