Empire at War

Always a bit of an unfair question really, a large part of any game is it's atmosphere, story, setting and characters, these all give the game it's sense of style and general vibe, for want of a better word.

I agree that a Star Wars setting will give a game a head start in this department but why shouldn't it?

Now if they get that Star Wars vibe wrong...that's a different story :)

gotta agree with you on this, i love vice city and although i know it has a few issues i can easily look past them because of the style, humour, story, characters etc.

ive just started the campaign on dawn of war, the style and story has gripped me so far. and ******* great tanks are always cool and get my attention, heh.

dawn of war has a very good single player campaign, the best RTS ive played actually.my first impressions are great about this starwars game though too, it must be a blinding game though if youre actually a SW fan

Can you do more complex missions with your special characters than what you could do in the Demo? That's one aspect I loved about Rebellion, to send out Luke and Han on assassination missions :D

Also, is it real time in the strategic galaxy view?

its bloomin hard at times, im on rebel mission 4 and really enjoying it. Looks amazing on my Dell 2045FPW. Ive noticed a lot of bugs though, certain statistics not showing at the end of missions and the path finding is terrible.

Hmmm... haveing problems with my EAW, kepp getting "failed to find and authenticate game disk" but its quite clearly in the drive as iv just installed off it...

Iv updated the game to 1.2 and still get the same error.

Got this last friday and played it virutally non-stop for most of the weekend. If your a Star Wars fan it fantastic, but general rts players should find it pretty enjoyable as well. Some good ideas in it and expansions would be good for things like prequel and expanded universe stories.

what cd burning software do you have installed? LA games are quite fussy on what cd burning software is installed.

Seemed to work ok after i rebooted. Got Daemon Nero and Clone CD/DVD installed. I did't have to kill any of them to get it to run.

Just prity much completed the Imperial missions... its prity good.

i heard the games lacking the real rts feel and is too limited on land battles, im a star wars fan but i'll give this a miss, age of empires 3 is too good currently.

I got this game also, graphics are very good. Gameplay matches for the first few days too.

However, IMO it does get repetitive very quickly, and you are pretty limited on what you can actually do !

Nethertheless, not a bad effort and a defo step up from Galatic battle grounds :P

I'm still enjoying this - however - I've made a couple of edits to make it harder though...

Made all planets able to have a level 5 space station and the maximum of 8 ground buildings...

Got my butt whooped by the Rebels last night - landed with Vader and 4 lots of stormtroopers and faced about 20 T2-B tanks and around 12 MPTL-2A artillery units..

It is rediculously easy to make money though...

As the Empire I've got to the section of the campaign where I have to capture Mon Calamari - and I've got 740'000 credits and am making around 10k per day...

I can't spend that much - not enough population points.

Did trouce the Rebels in a space battle though - I've upped the space limit to 50 from 25 - huge battle are capable now.

They sent in 35 Y-wing squadrons and 10 X-wing squadrons - I had 25 Tartan Cruisers and decimated them in seconds. :D

This is great. :D

Anyone else get a bobbing C3 PO for free?

It's a interseting game not really played it for long, as the Rebels I keep losing half my Army to those Damm Mauler Tank things, very irritating, if it's not running my troops over it's self Destructing and taking eerything down :(

LOL, mauler tanks are great. Good for killing infantry and tanks (when u self destruct) as flib said tho, credits are ridicously easy to make. U do actually make more that you can spend....

Still not a bad effort.

Still playing it !!!
