I can't believe how much utter drivel and crap there is in GD at the moment. Traditionally it's bad when the kiddies are on holiday but I don't think they are at the moment. I hate to think what it's going to be like in the summer if the current posts are anything to go by.

The levels of spam in here are quite amazing now, it's almost as though it's trendy to post a stupid thread. I've got news. It's not.

I'm sure I'm not the only person spending less and less time on the forums recently, I'll look at the first couple of pages in GD and without fail there will be some idiot asking if a paypal or ebay phishing email is real, or some equally dumb question about what colour shirt to wear or how to trim toenails.

If the current level of posts in here is an indication of where the world is heading towards, I'd like to book a flight off of this planet now please.

I expect some muppet to post in here asking how to use the toilet, or how to paint a wall because it's funny. Get real. Get the plot. Use the thing that you were born with which sits inbetween your ears.

Yeh, its the Year11's going on study leave, and the AS/A2 students, and the Uni students.

So really it is most of OcUK.

I will say that the great posts from GD have been few and far between recently, I mean Case Central has had a funnier set of threads than GD has had this week and that really is pushing it.

It will get better, it always does; sad to say a couple of years ago I was one of the ones contributing to the drivel. They key is to just sift through 3 pages of GD to find the odd gem of a thread.

Things do get better, they always do! I remember posting in this thread last year.

I will agree winter mid term time is the best time for OcUK, it really does have the potential to brighten your day up through GD, but it really is General Spam at the moment.

Just got to live with it, I know I can. I beleive that Nix will be offering councelling sessions to prepare you for the true onslaught, but places are going fast so you need to book now!

EDIT: I like Feeks font, it is how I tell it is him unless he has his gun sig on, its unique.
 
I've noticed the 'forum cycle' since I fisrt joined but I never associated it with the school holidays. You've got a bloody good point, every time the holidays come around, the forums and GD especially seem to go downhill.

July/August seems to be the time that we get the most "I'm leaving the forums" posts along with the serious increase in spam and crap, which would correlate with the holiday theorey. I remember I made a crap image a while ago...

Unfortunately I think I'm applicable with the former point as well, I've matured in the last year; hence last year I hope nobody remembers my big "omg im 1337 on my burfday fread" with the amount of posts I had but yeh, this year; more subdued. I've got my last AS Physics exam tomorrow and I can't wait for it to be over yet I know that over the next few weeks we'll get loads of noobs posting for attention due to the summer holidays coming up. :p

p.s. i dislike my username, yet i do not have the skill to re-birth myself.

GD is a living beast, you just poke and prod through the rubbish and it pops out in a burst of uncontrolable flatulance a right gem of a thread.

More threads means less good threads per bad one.

Just the way of the world, at least it is not like my other main forum which has been taken over by a bunch of bored gamers who needed one. :p
 
as a student on A level study leave i ask you older members not to tarnish us all with the same brush, i think im ok on the spam front, though if i do annoy any ocuk member i apologise

It's GD; move on. It's all a matter of opinion isn't it really..i seem to remember you posting a lot of crap in here too.

What's the harm in getting people chatting, regardless of subject? None. You just make yourself sound like a whiner.

Great post.

I only really skim over GD these days and spend most of my time in the PC and console sections.
