2gb to 4gb?

hi all, since i can;t get 1T command rate to be stable on my motherboard i was thinking that if im gonna be running 2t command rate i may as well go for 4 gigs of ram. question is. how much difference does it make going from 2 to 4 gigs?

Nothing to 1% unless your using Photoshop etc.

excellent guess i may as well place the order. for 100 quid i can get an extra 2 gigs of ram. hehehe 4 gigs will make me a very happy bunny.

XP 32 only recognises up to 3gigs. For 4 you need XP 64 and something to make use of it.

I just brought 2gb and the guy I brought it off said he had upgraded to 8gb!

I also found out he is a swedish graphic designer on the Worms games, very impressive graphics on his website so I guess he does have fair reason, lots of 3d rendering, etc

This 2gb doesnt seem to run at 1T despite only being 2 sticks, maybe because it has 16 ram chips per module. Apparently it doesnt work at all on asus motherboards

linux probably would allow 8gb ram if theres a 64bit version..

Yup Linux and a dual Opteron board would have to problems with 8 gigs
