Was thinking of popping into OCUK tomorrow to get a X23800 and now I've seen on the Weekly Deals a 3700+SD for £65incVAT

Oh what shall I do?

Hi there

AMD have cleared all their old 3700 and 4000 stock out.

Guess whos bought most of it? :D :D :p

That means we've now got some cracking prices on Athlon 64 3700 and 4000 but it is only whilst stock last, so be quick.

We may have 1000 units but at £55 I am sure you can imagine how fast they will sell. :)

Gibbo, you have put up some amazing prices on this week only...

AMD Athlon 64 3700+
Arctic Cooling Freezer 64
Connect3D ATI Radeon X1800 XT
Connect3D ATI Radeon X1900 XT

Sorry for off topic :o

Gibbo, your retail 4000+s dont state whether they are clawhammer or san diego. Do you stock both retail types and customers get at random?

Yup there is a mix of both I am afraid.....

The OEM chips are all San Diego and much cheaper. :)

Nope it's still last weeks offers.

Well I can see it.

ARGH... decisions, can someone help me on this

either
1) - 4000+ (OEM) SD core

2) - X2 3800+

I play games and do other stuff on my PC. Though when I do use it for wordprocessing/encoding I really do use it and do mutiple things at one time!

Fingers crossed as I bought it 2 weeks ago and didn't know.

worst case scenario, I sell it to a non techy and get an OEM :D

At the moment I'm running a 3000+. Seeing the great value on a lot of the processors right now, I'm thinking about upgrading.

I mostly use my PC for gaming and internet browsing, I run a dual monitor set up and run an MMOPRG game on one monitor, and have a load of seperate programs loaded up on the second monitor, mainly ventrilo, a few IE windows, and some other minor programs.

I'm not sure whether to go for the:

AMD Athlon 64 4000+ San Diego (Socket 939) - OEM (CP-175-AM)

Price: £69.95 (£82.19 Including VAT at 17.5%)

or the:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 3800+ (Socket 939) - Retail (ADA3800BVBOX) (CP-134-AM)

Price: £99.95 (£117.44 Including VAT at 17.5%)

Any ideas?

Same as me if you read the thread and I chose the X2, and then clock it a bit.
