Just got some new side panels of Antec P180 (check this out)

I sent an email to antec asking for some new side panels for my P180 case, as mine had snapped or the plastic lugs that hold them on had. Anyway they came today like this...

What do I do now? I now have 4 side panels with the same problem lol. :eek:
 
Oh well I just emailed antec support again, with photos asking what now lol.

Honestly my luck is rubbish. I wouldnt care but they came packed in a enough protection it was untrue. :rolleyes:
 
Its one of the many design flaws with SPCR's perfect P180, Antec accept the fact it happens and will send you 20 odd panels before they ask a question, there is a thread on another forum when some guy got a lot of panels as one broke.

Exploited the system, but good to show that Antecs support is best in the buisness, it needs to be really.
 
Maybe the bloke read it wrong and said that you wanted some ones with broken 'lugs' on.


Antecs Customer Support is brilliant, a guy over on XS asked them for some side panels becasue he wanted to practice modding them before he put a window in his properly.

I did no such thing i just dived straght into modding my side panel. Went pretty well I think.
 
Hmm I'm pretty sure I told made it clear I wanted fixed ones lol. You never know though, just seems weird they came busted though? if they meant to send me fixed ones, maybe whoever handles them is just bashing them about?

Watch this space lol.
 
Are these the things that slot into your actual case to hold the side panel in place aswell as the screws at the back?

This is the kinda product you get for spending a lot of money :eek:

My case was less than half of this one and mine are metal
 
Well I havent had any reply from antec over me telling them the replacment panels were knackered.

So I have started again from scratch and asked for some NEW ones. I couldnt have made it plainer.. look at the pics I sent lol...

Im really not trying to be nasty, just trying to make it clear i need NEW panels, as someone said they might have thought i was after snapped ones as thats what they sent. :rolleyes:
 
Get trading standards involved if they dont budge

You should get side panel/s that have the plastic lugs intact, not broken off

and you also have this thread/pictures as proof :)
 
That will not be necissary with Antec, they will just send you more.

They know its one of many design faults so they are happy to replace the panels.
 
Well guys I have sent 2 emails since i recieved the broken panels tuesday and have had no reply. Hope they arent ignoring me.

EDIT:

It might be becuase i wasnt following the correct proccess, so now i have used the online forms. Wait and see.

is this really a common problem??

i been looking at cases for the past few days (i want the best for about 100 quid, second hand) and narrowed it down to the lian li v1000 (v1000+ is too £££) and the antec p180...

i missed out on a v1000 on the bay (gutted) and now am after a p180 as it seems to be one of thee best cases out there.

this is kinda putting me off though! is it really much of a common occurance that the panels break?

Yes, it is a common problem.

SPCR are the main site that initially pimped the case in reviews and comments, the fact they helped design it has no relation to the high scores.

The case has warping doors, breaking side panel lugs, colouring issues and brittle plastic (was) as issues.

They are fantastic if your one of the 9/10 that gets a perfect one, but otherwise they are utter rubbish.

Defending the quality of some of them in my eyes is silly, look at some more basic cases for less, Eclipse for instance. Notice any faults that have been reported on almost all forums on the net several times a month?

The P180, since release basically has had a lot of issues, quite rare really and only on about 5% of the cases by my guesstimate, and they are easily sorted by contacting Antec.

But they should not be there at the start, thats my point and why I dislike the P180, its a £100 class case, Akasa's £30 case has better overall quality than it in the design and quality control front.

The P180 is made to a budget, potential to be the greatest case, if they doubled the price and fixed the countless niggles with the case. There are probably more than I know about but in my opinion its just to much hassle, the case should be perfect out the box for build quality.. End of.

I hope they arent busted too lol, or i will be opening my own antec p180 broken side panels store... selling broken antec p180 side panels funnily enough. :p

I don't want to rain on your parade m8 but Riska said he will be sending another one ...I hope he means one pair and not one panel...you might want to check on that.

I've had my panels replaced now and the new ones seem to fit much better than the old ones and require very little force to fit up correctly where the old ones were very tight.
