It's not shown as 48bit LBA, just "Large" as one of the access modes.

When you go into the BIOS I assume that the drive is showing OK on the main page? You should be able to scroll down to it and hit enter to show the details - what options are set when you do that?

Edit: Which SATA port is it on, one of the Nvidia ones or one of the Silicon Image ones?

That was one of my initial thoughts but the 7200.10s don't have a clip jumper on either the SATA or PATA models.

hi no jumpers connected on the hdd. shouldnt the bios see it as 250GB?
Yeah, the BIOS should show the full capacity.

Have you tried it on one of the Silicon Image ports? It won't show in the main BIOS that way so you'll need to check in the SI RAID BIOS which will pop up after the main one.

done the test it came out fine . so i'm so confused abt this

One of the drives is showing as dynamic. Not sure what it means exactly but if thats the drive as its around about what you say is the gb showing. Then perhaps this "dynamic thing" is the thing that is showing the wrong size.

Also perhaps fdisk it or somit. Thats what i do when i get a new drive. So its setup properly.

Do you think it maybe a sata driver issue or one of ** ports on mb for sata is borked. Tryed it with a different connector?

hi, dynamic is cuming up cos it was only format option on XP.

I connected on different ports, they have 120GB and 250Gb maxtors connected so the ports are fine. I think its a HDD problem, i emailed seagate let see what they say.

some one on the forums must have nforce 4 with seagate barrucada 7200.10.

please come fordward lol
