try using the manufacturers windows setup utilities. most companies have them. i remember i had to do the same for some of my large western digital hard drives. i dont think the hard drive is faulty as i remember seeing a lot of this on other forums. make sure that u have the latest service packs installed as well.
Hi guys still no joy but i checked my IDE settings and its got LBA,Large,Auto and sumthing else but these options are not selectable on SATA, i only get auto and large on SATA.
hmm i think i found out what the problem is, the harddrive LBA is set to normal and not 48bit, i used the dos seatool to check, i tried to set manual and max address but get a error, something about power cycle.
any one know a quick easy way to set LBA address on hdds please?
