Yes, like any cheesy eighties action flick, there has to be a sequel.

This time, its over to Rob:

Retro Status - FAIL.

Low Status - PASS! Thus I think it may be appreciated here;

My E36 318iS Slammed over 16x9" ET15 Borbet A's with 215 40 rubber and 20mm Spacers on the back!

Yes, I'm a sell out, but I do a lot of miles now and as I like my hearing and spine I don't want to use the KP everyday.

The pics suck but you get the idea!

Robs other car (KP30 Toyota 1000) is featured in the July issue of Banzai too if you want to have a look (its the oh-so-sweet little white one ;))

I saw a similar BMW today, tyres were sticking out past the car though, blatent MOT fail.

Oh and it looked silly aswell (in my opinion)

Don't like the E36 but the wheels would look good on the Supra/Volvo.

KP30, on the other hand, is lush.

The KP for you:

Wayn0r - why would he want to put an M badge on it?

So it will fit in with all the other 318's that can be found on council estates.

I like the idea of dropping a car on wheels with dish. I like the look, but to me no matter what is done with an E36, it will never lose it's chav image. Those particular wheels don't suit the car either.

Banzai sucks. i bought a copy thinking it would be a good read.

but they dont even drive the cars, they merely interview the owner, take his word and its article over!

why dont they request a drive in the car and then write up how the different bits work together and whether it drives like the shagged out 318 it looks to be or whether its a nice car?

Likewise with Imprezas? ;)

God is in the details. Do you not think it rather narrow-minded to tar all E36s with the same brush?

Very, very few mags drive 'owners cars' - the only cars which tend to get driven by the hacks are the 'review cars'; the mainstay of Top Gear, Evo et cetera.

The only mag I can think of which regularly drives owners cars is Octane. Most simply get a passenger ride (if that) and go "ZOMGZ!!!!! THEH FASTS!!!!"

why dont they request a drive in the car and then write up how the different bits work together and whether it drives like the shagged out 318 it looks to be or whether its a nice car?

Why would Banzai want to feature a 318is?

Insurance is the main hurdle...plus, if you had a feature-worthy car, would you let some degenerate hack loose in it?

Sexy, smooth. I'm getting to the point where I'm liking the e(not 3)36 a bit less, but it's still a sexy mofo on Borbet A's y0.

Surely your going to be sat in the passenger seat with them, and IIRC for some of the features Evo use readers cars. :)

No, because I think they all look crap. I appreciate them for what they are but I perceive them as a car driven by uncouth folk from rough estates. There might be one out there that I like the look of but I highly doubt it.

The BM is *OK*, the KP however.....

..... **** me yes. Infact it's given me a bit of wood.

Erm, you have completely and utterly missed the point of Banzai. Have you never read an 'enthusiast' mag before?

And why would a magazine for Jap cars feature a BMW?
