Hard Slam 2: The Art of Daily Driver Lowness

paint the door handles and debadge the bonnet, then 2 steps closer to a super smooth looking car.

Iwas just going to add its crying out for some comedy novelty sticker, then saw the 86 in the rear screen nice...

/ok one more thing, shie that rear pipe up, maybe even a nod to the oldskool and a twin upswept DTM style item, but don't know if thats to many chav styling cues or not, I reckon this car can do it!

I would leave the body as is and simply drop the front a smidgen more; a gripe I have with many BMWs is the front/rear arch discrepancy; the front arches always appear far too large in profile.

I know how you feel, it bugs me too.

The BM is *OK*, the KP however.....

..... **** me yes. Infact it's given me a bit of wood.

Erm, you have completely and utterly missed the point of Banzai. Have you never read an 'enthusiast' mag before?

And why would a magazine for Jap cars feature a BMW?

god knows it was an example, they dont even drive the jap cars let alone german ones!

no i have never read such a shoddy mag as banzai before - i bought it with high hopes - but it turned out to be an advertisement for car wheel shop, or similar, or a day at th dyno.

the thing is there dont seem to be any "inbetween" magazines, i.e where they review modded cars.

surely on here we know that throwing like £500-£1000 at a new car will bring very good gains (ecu, exhaust, etc) but the cars never get tested in this trim in either Evo, nor TG.

Here are the pics. Can't get it much lower without some serious rubbing.

Ack. I forgot about the Koops' bonnet line meaning there isn't much in the way of arch. Gutted :(

They 14" or 15" rims?

16"

Hell, if it was any lower I wouldn't be able to get up and down my 'drive' / dirt track.

Nice. Could someone try potatochopping the TH's on? There is a part of my mind that thinks a flat-sided wheel would work well...

I like that apart from the camber on the rear wheel. Height looks perfect to me - mine needs dropping a fair bit.

For the record, the 318is isn't that bad a car. Certainly not to be confused with the 318i.

I've never driven one, but why are E36s crap ?

They are only "chav" because they are now old, thus cheap.

If you were to find a one owner untouched minter, would it be crap ? Overpriced probably, but why would it be crap ? Surely it'll be better than other cars of that era, but now dated ?

Don't mind that look on cars that suit it (e.g. Mk1 Golfs, etc), but an E36 BMW? It's hardly a retro car is it.
