Mod BIOS For Asus EAH4850

Would like to flash the BIOS of my 4850, to a modded one, one which will give me more performance (Max clocks at moment, Core 693Mhz, Mem 2100Mhz), I only want to flash the BIOS, I don't want to do any (hardware) voltage pencil mods.

So, basically looking for a (proven) modded BIOS that will work with this card.

use my mod bios. it should clock to about 750mhz / 1150mhz...

Don't quite understand bit about uninstalling drivers before flash etc...

Do you mean uninstall the ATI (CCC) drivers?

Would I use Winflash 2012 to update the BIOS?

How come you have to reinstall the drivers? I've never had to do it when flashing my 4850 bioses.

So Windowz don't get confoooozed. Especially if the card has modded overdrive values.

because ive upped the overdrive limit to 800/1300 via a signature.

Gareth, would that work with my 1Gb Gigabyte 4850? The bios version that jbloggs has posted is identical to mine?

tbh im not sure about the 1gb. but u can try it or if u upload or send me your bios i'll modded it..

make sure u backup your bios

Flashed the BIOS and it completed correctly, but now Vista 64bit does not recognise the graphics crad, the drivers install, but do not pick up the card....

What steps do I need to take to remedy it?

8.9 drivers? they should work. point it to C:\ATI\SUPPORT\8-9_vista64_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_68906\Packages\Drivers\Display\LH6A_INF\

if u wanna flash to your old bios just use your backup bios or go to http://www.mvktech.net/component/option,com_remository/Itemid,26/ or techpowerup and download asus bios.

Are you hitting 750/1150 without any volt/pencil mod???

Just a flash is what's required?

I did .... card appears bricked :eek:

Won`t even post. Went through flashing process and got an unrecoverable BSOD and poof, Windaz shut down.

Right, Im up the creek .... got a lappy, a pen drive. Is there anything I can do?

Why on earth would you try a 512mb bios with a 1gb card? Of course it won't work. Reflashing will bring back to life though.
