I honestly don't know what to think of the endings but so far i have only done the successful endings and haven't seen what happens when you fail.
I can't help but feel slightly dissapointed with the ending but i don't know why.
end game spoilers here that i just thought of so dont read!!!
So if the catalyst made the reapers, how did the reapers make the citadel? and then who made the catalyst? gah the ending has left me wanting more answers.
The ending is shockingly stupid, it makes no sense what so ever, is terribly explained and executed, massively ambiguous and regardless of what you chose it renders everything you have done in the past 3 games moot.
Isnt there a chance that the ending isnt the end? I would have expected EA to want more cash from repeated playthoughs, DLC and apearence items like they did we ME1 and ME2. You cant realy do that with your current ending so it would seem like its maybe not the true ending, just what your expected to believe until the next DLC. It is sci-fi so any explanation is viable.

It was probably a previous cycle which made the reapers and the catalyst was 1 of the creators of Harbinger I guess, which I'd imagine was the first Reaper.
Also was hoping that there would be more interaction with harbinger, he was kind of made out to be very interested in Shepard in the second one and the third.
The ending is about as final as they could possible make it, the only way to get around it would be claiming the entire game has just been some kind of extended dream sequence.
Enjoyed the game, but was disappointed with the endings. Too many unanswered questions also.
My favorite by far is Mass Effect 1, has best story and game mechanics for me out of all 3. Then ME3, then ME2, which I thought was no way near as good as ME1.
I was left feeling quite disappointed, the ending offered no closure at all.
I don't mind endings that are sadder, rather than the shiny happy "everyone survives and has children" thing, but I want some closure on characters I've followed for 5+ years, not that rubbish we got. The end really didn't feel like Mass Effect.
My total playtime was 28hrs and that was having done everything bar exploring every planet in each system.
At first upon seeing the ending, I wasn't too annoyed. However after reflecting on it, I realise that too much was left unanswered and it is clear that Buyoware took the cheap way out completely. The fact that every ending is roughly the same fills me with disgust.
I had a bad feeling about ME3 before it even went gold. Like DA2 they seemed to be throwing out countless trailers and promotional material. I began worrying that something just had to 'give', and my fears were answered as those who unlocked the game on Tuesday 6th began finishing it. They could give us a fixed ending via a DLC but truth be told, the damage to Bioware's already flinching reputation has been done. The DLC, the cheapo Tali photoshop, the final winter photoshop etc.
My ending didn't even make sense with regards to the fleeing Normandy. It crashes, out of control onto a lush green planet. The doors open...and then my game cut to the credits. Wth?

Yeah, its been a few days since i completed it now and looking back, I am even more disappointed with the ending. Just feels incomplete and unsatisfying.
I remember when I completed the first one, was sooo satisfying. Bioware seem to be going downhill...
