Hi Guys
Me and NathWraith recently went on a bit of a trip to Wales for the day. Plan was to take in some great driving roads and eventually end up at the beach.
Our route was from Shell services on the A34/A500 in Stoke on Trent/Newcastle over to Black Rock Sands via Porthmadog
First on the agenda was the Evo Triangle which was on the way to Porthmadog using the sat nav. The roads through Nantwitch were busy as we set off just before rush hour, once on the A5 things got a lot easier and the long sweeping bends were a joy to drive on.
Triangle Map
After stopping off and having a chat with a biker, we made our way round the triangle. Its fairly obvious why EVO magazine use this place for testing cars out. Tight corners and narrow sections of road on the first stretch that we visited [A543] which meant that pace was steady and there was a bit of a climb for the cars to take up.
The second section [B4501] was a lot better, the initial part of the road had long sweeping bends through a fantastic pine forest. We stopped off at Llyn Brenig for a short break and then pressed on towards the tail end of the B4501 which was very technical and had a few surprising sharp bends.
After retracing our steps on the bottom end of the triangle, the A5 we carried on and made it to Porthmadog for some lunch.
After a brief walk around Porthmadog, we headed to the beach to take some pictures and headed back
Surprise of the journey was the A4212. This is hands down the best road I have ever driven on. almost to the point where we nearly turned around and did it again.
if you get a chance, go out of your way to drive it. you will not be disappointed.
only let down of the day was the walkie talkies breaking, so communication between the cars was difficult and it meant stopping more often.
Here are some pictures.
