London F1 Race - Maybe

You'd have to set some ride height to deal with all the speed bumps. :p

Not to mention all the tickets the drivers would get from the speed cameras :D

Having been past the Olympic site the other day for the first time, the roads around it are nice and wide and smooth. there could be an epic street track in there somewhere...

Could be a very nice spectacle but the chances of it happening are close to zero I expect.

I dunno, apparently they are having real difficulty finding any use for the stadium after the Olympics. Something to do with the turf not being suitable for Premiership football?

Just imagine 100,000 F1 fans and 24 F1 cars all inside that stadium

I am no expert but I can't believe the turf can't be lifted and replaced with EPL turf, main issue is the running track has to remain so if it went to West Ham for instance they need to keep it. I can't see them fitting much of a track inside the stadium so I doubt 100,00 would pay to see such little action when you would see the cars for 6 seconds per lap or something.

Having the main straight run through the stadium with the pits in there too would be cool, if it fitted.

If not a Canada style hairpin with a DRS zone before it to guarantee overtaking would be good.

Screw poxy effin Landan

There are plenty of cities here that have a far better "street-track suitability" than the dive that is our capital.

Yes, but how many of them have a massive stadium and surrounding road network with the owners begging for something to do with it all? :D

Hold up you live in Peterborough!

Cant see it happening, for starters who would pay the elf all that money?

That sounds very unlikely.

Just relay it with different turf that is more suitable.

Football pitches have their turf relayed all the time. Theres a massive company in the UK who grow the stuff especially, most of the professional football teams in the UK use them. You can literally buy suitable turf off the shelf. They had a feature about it on BBC one's "Geat British Countryside" a few weeks ago, showing you round the place. Its massive.
