London F1 Race - Maybe

As vettel lines up at his poll grid position on raceday, there'd no doubt be temporary traffic lights and diversion signs at the start/finish while they fix potholes.

Someone mentioned this elsewhere but it really does look like the same track layout as the one on PGR 3 :D. Would be great to have two GP's in the UK but what happened to it incorporating the Olympic park?

Layout looks rubbish. And theres no way that a) they would be able to close the centre of London for 3 days, and b) they would be allowed to build a pitlane on the Mall.

...and Westminster council can't even maintain their roads, never mind host an F1 race.

This PR thing and the supposed Westminster/Mall/Trafalgar square track is just to drum up interest.

If it actually happens the track will definitely be elsewhere, which is where the Olympic park comes in.

PR stunt.

But if it gets enough interest in a London GP for them to build a circuit around the Olympic park, then good on them.

The London GP by Santander - 3D race with Hamilton & Button

I think you meant to say "PR stunt with Hamilton and Button" there. Nobody with half a clue believes that route could actually be used as it involves racing through the centre of Admiralty Arch, which is barred with iron gates that are only opened for state processions and can't be removed as it's a listed building of the highest grade. Not to mention that a crash in there would require the race to be instantly abandoned, and if there were cars close together - like on the first lap - it would essentially guarantee multiple driver fatalities.

Yeah, but it would be SO awesome :p

Ok, so... there's two sides to it.

Realistically, no this isn't going to happen like they designed it. But if they did... If they did... It would be amazing. No one can deny that.. Take away the realism for a minute, and think how awesome it would be :p

As Joe Saward put it:

It is no great surprise that on the morning after the sentencing in Germany of Dr Gerhard Gribkowsky to a lengthy prison term for accepting a bribe in the sale process of the Formula One group – and the obvious questions that arise from that verdict – there is a story in the English newspapers, led by The Times, that there will be a Grand Prix on the streets of London.
Good old Bernie, he knows how to deceive.

ill hold a GP in london if you dont investigate me for tax avoidance.

isnt there even a qoute from bernie where he said he paid the bribe because if he didnt he would have been investigated and forced to pay hundreds of millions in tax lol...

wierd how it never got investigated
