#NUFC can confirm that Joe Kinnear has been appointed as the Club's new Director of Football on three-year deal

Balls

Really not looking forward to how next season is going to unfold. He's already lost the respect of the players. And who do we expect to sign sending that numpty to negotiate a contract with them?

i don't know what kinnear did to get inside ashley's head but he's apparently his favourite person he's ever employed at newcastle. expect him to replace pardew.

What a monumental screw up this is.

I bet Pardew is well miffed at all this. Is it certain that Kinnear will have the final say on transfers?.

Anyhoo, up the Villa :D

the only thing to top this will be for pardew to walk and Mclaren to be lined up as next manager

I have already seen somewhere Kinnear saying he is more intelligent than anyone doubting this decision.

Nice way to make friends in your new job. Crazy decision.

listen to this interview. it's unreal. i've never heard of some of the players he talks about :p and he claims he signed tim krul!

I was WTF when he said that, Tim Krul played his first ever game for us in Europe, something we werent in, or go into, the season he was in charge. Hes pretty delusional.

At this moment in time im with everyone else think why?

If he proves to be a success (which I doubt) Il quite happiliy admit I was wrong and say well done for bringing him in.

I just think its one of Ashleys plots to just make us hate him again

I wish it was possible to erase certain parts of my memory. I'd happily remove all feelings towards Newcastle and pick a new team to support.

Quite easily the most frustrating team to support in the English divisions.

Unfortunately you can't - it's in the blood as they say. That said, this JFK appointment is testing my patience - particularly after listening to that interview on talksport. In a few sentences he managed to alienate players, fans and media. I shudder to think what he'll be like negotiating a finely balanced transfer deal. My season ticket has been renewed for the 30th year - it may be my last.

After this I officially retire as a Newcastle fan.

There is only so much my sanity can take, I will keep an eye out for results but I cease to give a toss until the clown factory is sorted. There is only so much my nerves/temper can take and whilst I can take a genuine approach but failing, this is just Mickey Mouse.

So fu Newcastle, going to try and become a football fan and just enjoy the game (unfortunately I love the club and will more then likely fail :()

I just hope there are 3 worse clubs than us next season, otherwise it's championship again. But this time I can see an even bigger mass exodus.

Football has moved on so much since Kinnear's days, and even then he wasn't even a brilliant manager, so I have no idea what he is going to bring to the club.

Just finished reading an article where someone has corrected all his mistakes in the interview, quite shocking that he states so many facts about himself which are incorrect:

"Never been sacked" - Luton sacked him
"Bought Krul" - Krul had his first game before Kinnear even arrived
"400 games for Tottenham" - 193 I believe.
"I thought I'd done an excellent job there" - 19% win ratio in time at Newcastle
"and no way would we have gone down" - Would have done with his points to game ratio
"been manager of the year three times" - Just once actually
"look when you're at Wimbledon, there ain't no budget, you find the players yourself - there aint' no budget" - Signed John Hartson for £7.5m in 1999

Fair to say you have completely pwned him on every point. Well done sir :)

I don't think it's right to judge at the moment. Give it 3 months and see where you are.

I honestly dont give a care about what the top management are doing, they have definitely had their ups and downs in terms of decisions at Newcastle.

All I care about is us putting out a team week in and week out that is fairly decent and can play well and give every other team we play a good game. If we can get back to the form we showed the previous to last season then good. If we bomb again thats all I concern myself with.

I kind of lost interest a bit in football during the course of last season. I'm hoping for a much more thrilling season overall from every team this coming year.
