The series follows eight characters around the world who, in the aftermath of a tragic death, find themselves linked to each other mentally and emotionally,” he told Deadline. “They can not only see and talk to each other as though they were in the same place, they have access to each other’s deepest secrets. Not only must they figure out what happened and why and what it means for the future of humanity, they must do so while being hunted by an organization out to capture, kill or vivisect them.”

Out as of today :D the full season

Looks interesting, thought it was out next week with OITNB. Hopefully I'll get some time over the weekend to watch a few episodes.

Yea I'm on ep3 and seems a bit slow so far introducing all the characters and background but I read it starts to get good after these.

either way cost me nothing using netflix free month

In some ways as someone else put it its like a glorified travel ad with a storyline tacked on heh.

Great use of colour, music, interesting locations, etc. to be fair.

First few episodes as above move about a lot, quite busy throwing a lot at you some of which isn't that interesting and sometimes a bit unnecessarily heavy on the gay/lesbian/trans subject (can guess why) while the main story isn't really going anywhere but not sure how else they could have introduced it all really that wouldn't have been even less interesting.

Not finished it yet but so far I've only found it interesting rather than gripping, bit better than some of the recent Wachowski efforts.

yea I just started episode 4 and still seems to be going at a slow pace but it's interesting enough although some character scenes seem pointless so I just skip forward or start tidying up whilst there on in the background :S

I'm expecting it to get good once everyone realises what's going on though.

Completely random thing I noticed - the place where Riley is disposing of the money - that spot is usually where the police have a check point IRL especially at times of heightened security (also been through there at any time of day even like 4am and its never that empty lol).

Still haven't finished it - did the action peak with the bit near the end of episode 3 with the stolen medicine?

I lost interest in the second episode :(.

Strap on scene was a bit overkill imo lol.

Yeah a lot of that stuff is just unnecessarily overdone :( and like 60% of the characters are LGBT or turn out to have some kind of gender/sexuality crisis/secret - I'm guessing due to Lana/Larry Wachowski :S (don't have a problem with it but its pushed to a needless extent).

I'd recommend sticking with it for another couple of episodes though before deciding if you like it or not as it really doesn't get going during the first 3 episodes. The humour is quite pithy at times which is a plus as well.

yea I saw on another forum
Sense8 =

- Gay Pride check
- Feminism check
- Shemale check
- Cover wide range of skin colors check
- Show a penis check
- Show bisexual sex check
- Racial sterotypes check
- Asian must know martial arts check
- Shemale hacker check
- black man hotwiring a car check
- Car chase check
- Helicopter chase check

etc

The show is just trying to cover bases and push buttons as if working down a checklist.

I've cracked their parade though:
No fat guy/girl main character

Fat people not allowed in their rainbow squad Very Happy

This show is pure feed for the hipsters around the world, is crazy stuffed with bs.

Just my humble opinion .
Can't disagree with that

It really is like they are working down a checklist :S a lot of the reason at times it seems to be going nowhere.

Still not finished it yet but got a feeling its never going to fully make use of the potential - they could have compressed that stuff into about half the screen time and really worked with the core concept a lot more - loads of interesting possibilities.

I'll give it credit though its not like most shows.

I've watched 6 episodes so far and once i stopped expecting the plot to move on it's started to grow on me. The whole shoving every type of sexuality down your throat every 5 minutes thing is annoying though as apart from the orgy scene it's really got no bearing on anything.

I don't get the deal with the actor guy why is their so much scenes of him and the gay guy in his house..

who gives a **** the amount of time wasted on that they could have had their own 1-2 hour series....

reminded me of "footballers wives" especially the stupid woman desperate for monies and an easy life over the moon as soon as she found out the guy was gay as it was a way for her to manipulate her way into their lives and have an easy ride.

if you want answers go watch lost :P if you want teenage/mumsnet drama watch this

The whole premise for the show seems to be a side plot so they can show the daily lives of the LGBT community

I'm surprised the cop didn't turn gay from his experience

I'll stick it out and give it another shot.

Nah I've got no issue with the themes at all just if I wanted to see that much of a sex scene Id go watch porn haha. I want a storyline which although this could have one it seems lost behind the LGBT sex theme :D.

I paused watching Stargate: Universe (I know its crap but I never finished watching it years back) on Netflix to watch this and imagine my surprise when the cop in Sense8 is actually soldierboy in SG:U!

Onto episode 3 so far but I kinda agree with Arknor. It's like the directors have a checklist they're working through.

I wouldn't say SGU was crap just another one that didn't really utilise the potential there and spent too much time exploring character related stuff :S so a lot of down time between the good bits.

Was trying to remember where I'd seen the cop guy before, he also plays a cop in Revenge but it was SGU that I was thinking of but couldn't place.

i love the check list, i was sat watching the 1st EP thinking well they have got pretty much everything covered :P, the trailer looked really good, but after the 1st 2 EP not impressed

On to episode 7 of this. It has potential and some good moments, the ideas behind it are good, but it's a bit lacking. Where they could be exploring far more of the connections they instead are concentrating too much on random unnecessary sex scenes. I don't find the sex scenes offensive or off putting, they are just for the most part unnecessary and often quite out of place. They slow the pace down even more, which this show really doesn't need as it's pretty slow going anyway.

It does feel like they are pushing a political agenda over actually telling the story.
