So from 24 of July to 9th of august I'm off work, and have decided homelessly wondering the country on a motorcycle is a good plan, will borrow some camping gear for the more wild stretches

a very crude route modified from a ride one and just swinging by most of the country

if you've got any recommendations of towns/roads to visit post em up, and if you'd like to meet up for a drink/ can offer a bed for the night/show me around town post up

Also any tips you've found if you've done similar

Tip - leave the UK! In the same time you could take in a wide range of countries and cultures in Europe.

For the southern portion of your route above, there are loads of campsites in the New Forest with great pubs nearby. They're not the most fun roads to ride on but it makes a good nightstop.

One Tip

Don't leave your Bike Keys in the lock of your topbox while you spend hours looking around a huge museum like I did once...

I was really lucky no one stole my bike or both are bikes or any the stuff in my topbox (I had my mates bike spare keys in it :eek:

/ about 500 euro's in cash /my zumo 660 GPS / my mates Laptop , etc etc in it)

The very far north east of Scotland is ok but the north west coast is a lot more picturesque with great roads.

I toured it on a bike a few years back. Tongue and Durness were really beautiful.

This is a common view, frankly it's one I'm almost sure I've said myself in many threads but in a way its a shame we all say it. I've been to many places and the scenery in Northern Scotland ranks up there with the best I've experienced. It's truly exceptional up there and many people never see it because they just... go to Europe instead.

That would only count as a small percentage of what he was intending to travel (northern Scotland, don't get me wrong the uk has some great other places. But i would have though it would need a little bit more to the journey once you have done Scotland

Don't go to Ringwood- it's just a normal boring little town. Christchurch / New Forest towns are much more 'lovely' if that's what you're going for

He's covering some other great places though, North Wales and North Yorkshire in particular are also wonderful.

Agreed - And goes the same for the likes of the Devon and Cornwall coast, The Gower in Wales, The Lake District, Northumberland coast.....

The list goes on. This country has breahtaking views and scenery, engulfed in history. So much to see and do and yet the majority of the population here can't see the wood from the trees and probably never have and never will experience it because of the old British mentality....
