With 5 weeks to go I was surprised there wasn't already a topic for this!

I'm going to see England v Wales at Twickenham on 26th Sept. Still need to book hotel/travel though!

Who else will be going?

One thing I'm looking for is an iCal that I can add to Google that'll update the matches with scores etc as they go on. The official fixtures calendar only lets you subscribe through an app which doesn't let you pick which calendar to put events into (and gives a 3rd party app access to all your other calendars). I'll update this if I find one!

Very excite!

Didn't manage to get any tickets through the ballot and I am not forking out £125 to see Wales v Uruguay! (effectively a third v fifth tier game!). Especially not after the performance I witnessed in Cardiff at the weekend. I get that it isn't the test squad, but with such a small player selection pool, if we pick up injuries, we are stuffed!

Edit: Also don't think Wales will get out of the group and after watching Oz vs. NZ the other morning, they will top the group against England. One good thing about the "pool of death"... if you win it, then there is a relatively easy path to the RWC final (if all else goes to plan - but it probably won't!)

Can't wait. Going to the Opening Ceremony and Fiji game on the first Friday.

Russinating, apparently hotel bookings have been less than expected so reserved rooms are being opened up over the next few weeks. We're staying in Hounslow as it was cheap and less than a 2 mile walk from the stadium.

sbi5ar, agree that Wales have work to do after the weekend's performance!

Managed to get Ireland v Italy at the Olympic stadium. Had to get category A seats so £175 each! Madness. At least close to home so don't have travel or hotels to book. Only way I could justify spending that much on tickets.

Ireland ticking along nicely. Danger with these warmups is injuries. Must say we've got some decent depth in most positions for the first time in .... well ever I suppose!

I have tickets for samoa v USA and Aus v Fiji, my friend has a ticket for the opening ceremony I can buy but at 200pounds its a bit more than I would like to spend despite being great seats.

I hope Wales put in a better performance this weekend with more of a regular team, but their tactics are so one dimensional that teams know what's coming, plus tighthead is still a big worry if Samson Lee doesn't play.

I can see Ireland doing well, Joe Schmidt is an excellent coach and tactician and there isn't a major weakness in their team (maybe centres?).

It will be interesting to see how England go, Tom Wood should be out of the squad with The Hask at 6.
Why is Ben Morgan in the main squad and Thomas Waldrom in the Saxons
I'm still not convinced with Sam Burgress at 12, a few times he got caught out in defence and decent centres will really exploit him. I watched him play at 6 for Bath and he was carrying well, clearing out rucks and being involved more, he'd make a very good impact sub in the forwards, although there's the issue of line-outs.

Looking forward to this.

Halfpenny out for the Welsh, big blow for them.

Hoping Scotland can get to the quarters, only to be battered by the Welsh, English or Aussies...

Rhys Webb is the bigger blow out of the injury list (We can just about do without JD and HP when push comes to shove). Mike Philips just doesn't have it in him any more - very slow at the breakdown. I'm more than happy for him to prove a point in the tournament and show that he should have been selected initially.

I've got tickets to New Zealand v Tonga, Scotland v Samoa, Italy v Canada and Scotland v USA. Looking forward to them all! Fingers crossed for a cracking tournament - I've already told the missus to warm up the TV upstairs, cos I've booked the big one :D

It would be nice to see England do well, but I'm not convinced they will :D

I'm off to see Australia vs Fiji, England vs Wales and Semi Final 1. Quite expensive but home World Cups don't come around that often, I was in school uniform (1991) last time I watched a World Cup match at Twickenham.

I think the last rugby game I saw in person was the WC semi final at the Millennium stadium waaaay back. I am sure this will be a good tournament, but I have reservations over how commercialised it will be and ITV's coverage.

I've just looked up ITV's schedule and they're showing every single game live which I was quite impressed with. I was expecting one game on itv, one game on itv4 and the rest bundled into a late night highlights show. :)

ITV are using most the guys from BT Sport so the punditry will be good (better than Stuart Barnes anyway).

Really looking forward to this. Only got tickets to England v Australia at the moment but might be able to get a couple of others through work.
