007 First Light

I'm not too fussy, I'm also streaming the PC to my laptop and the input lag doesn't bother me, maybe it would if it was a first person shooter.
Do you not notice that latency at all? Running the game with both 4x FG and then streaming the game to another device? I feel like you'd press 'w' and 4 seconds later you'd move forward!

We need more BIG ORANGE path tracing comparisons.

@willhub How on earth do you stream with frame gen on, what are you using? If I stream any game to my Steam Deck (Using Sunshine+Moonlight) with x2 frame gen on it's totally unplayable latency....

New patch out that fixes some path tracing related issues Hotfix | Version 1.2.1, and they're going to look at improving the performance:

This week we shipped the long-anticipated Path Tracing update for 007 First Light. Although the positive reception to the visual improvements was a great payoff for the amount of work that went into this update, we recognize that there is room for improvement in terms of performance.

We’re aware that some players are experiencing performance issues, and we’re working closely with NVIDIA to investigate these reports, improve performance and clarify questions around settings and hardware requirements.

I'd love to buy this, but the price point seems big. It's currently 20% off on Steam and it's still £55.99? I think they could have sold way more, if the base price was in the £40-50 range.

Maybe I'm judging it too harshly and it's genuinely worth that. I can't tell.

It's certainly not among my favorites this year, but has it's moments and I'm glad I played through it. I got it free with my graphics card but would have been happy to pay £30+.

It's a pretty decent bond movie in game form.

I am going to wait a bit with my second playthrough, until they optimize PT performance with patches. Hopefully I can achieve 110-120fps with everything maxed, PT high, DLSS Q at 3440x1440 with my 5080. Right now I am not there, even if I go down to DLSS Balanced.

Nice, I mean that’s how I’d expect to play a game, not be told I can only punch people in some parts.

I guess for Bond they were trying to indicate in the early part of the game that he doesn't have his 00 status - so he doesn't have a license to kill.

I didn't mind the license to kill thing, typically didn't take too long for the guns to come out.

The stealth > brawl > shootout gameplay loop felt pretty good for the most part. It's probably a good thing really because none of these elements are especially strong on their own imo.

Whereas in hitman I have a licence to shoot, stab, strangle and push (off buildings) from the start :)
... but can you shoot a gun out of someone's hands and catch it mid-air? :p

You should use performance with DLSS.

Option L.
