I'm still on 1.1.2 ever since I saw peoples problems on here with 1.1.3 and third party apps so I decided to play it safe. But now with stuff like ZiPhone making it so effortless to unlock and jailbreak the iPhone I must ask... is it safe to go for it? Is the support for the third party apps on 1.1.3/1.1.4 still a bit shaky? Cheers.

I would go as far as 1.1.3, from what i gather 1.1.4 is still a bit dodgy on the jailbroken front

Im staying @ 1.1.3 until further notice, very happy with it now :)

I'm on 1.1.4 been good so far, feels much better then the previous firmware version. Haven't tried installing any apps so far though.

1.1.4 is the best for me too. I found 1.1.3 buggy for me as my phone kept crashing and it not crash since it been on 1.1.4 and everything seem to work such as locate us on the google map

Just updated a phone from 1.1.2:

1) Put the phone in recovery mode,
2) Restored firmware to 1.1.4,
3) Ran ZiPhone (Do it all)
4) Done, unlock, happy times! :)

Oh dear, what have I done.

I restored my firmware to 1.1.4, ran ZiPhone (Do it all option), said it's finished and regained access to my iPhone. But I'm not getting any reception from my O2 PAYG nor my Virgin sim. Carrier name doesn't display on the top left corner and the bar just stays at 1/5.

Help

I get the same with my orange sim. I have two iphones here and it doesn't work in neither of them.

Can you guys clarify a few things for me.

Right now I've restored my iPhone to 1.1.4 from recovery mode. So basically now at the moment if I shove the original O2 simcard in there, iTunes will give me that initial page like when I first got it.

Now, whilst my iPhone is connected, I just run ZiPhone isn't it? I don't need to put the iPhone into recovery again and then run ZiPhone do I?

I've repeated the process more than 10 times now but am gonna call it quits after this final attempt. Feel kinda gutted I went for 1.1.4 now.

Put the original SIM in when you restore and jailbreak. Try that, only put your Orange SIM in when you have jailbroken the phone. Have you got the latest version of ZiPhone (2.5)?

That is what I did, I only swapped the sim over when the jailbreak/unlock completed.
Have just tried the 'Don't unlock' option but that does not even work with a normal o2 sim (not on iphone contract).

Are there any other unlock methods apart from the ziphone I can try?

This iphone was 1.1.3 originally, how do I get it back to 1.1.3? Maybe it will work if unlocked on that.
When I restore through itunes it makes it 1.1.4 automatically.
