1.1.3 Firmware for ipod touch.

What bothers me is that Apple can use this to their advantage and charge for future apps. I've already got 3 of the apps as it is, and until they can come up with something that rivals summerboards themes and custom options, I doubt I'll bat an eyelid.

I dont mind the charging to be honest, but £12.99 for 5 apps that to be honest are nto oof particular importance is a bit steep. Had it been £5 or something it would have tempted me, but im not paying that much.

If it is ill be seriously tempted if thats how much apple are going to charge. Ive held off jailbreaking for the SDK coming out, but if thats how much they will charge I cant see the point.

Apple have also given Dev's the freedom to pick their own price for their apps, so, free up to $6.99 iirc.

I'd very much expect the large majority to be free, apart from the ones that will come from major corporations.

Downloading now

Always wary about these kinds of things though encase I end up breaking the thing :p

Hehe, I'm still on 1.1.1 for that very reason, and I managed to break that too. :o

This, however could tempt me to upgrade...

You can now "pre-type" with two thumbs on v1.1.3 now (i.e. type, type, lift thumb, lift thumb -- instead of the usual type, lift, type lift, which is a big slow-down)

Gmail IMAP is now officially supported

(Apple appear to have found some bandwidth now, the Keynote managed to take down 2 AOL data centres and Apple took the Video down shortly after putting it up)

I thought you guys said the servers were being hammered? Mines already downloading and is installing as we speak :)

30 seconds worth of playing time and all seems to be ok already sent a multi-recipient text to my mates alerting them to the upgrade and changed some icons around on the home page

Loving it!

I like the Web Clips :)

Is that on the touch..?

Also i have noticed that when you go into the tabs view in the browser the thumbnails actually show up now, compared to before where they were just white blocks (on mine anyway).

Must be yours then, I've always had thumbnails.
I can't wait for the SDK, maybe some *useful* apps might be released, not just things like Pirates :/

I think I will keep mine jailbroke for the mean time. For Ipot owners I wouldnt pay money for the apps.

Apple seem to be playing catch up with the installer apps. They have had multiple texts, rearranging of icons for months now, I even think theres a cell phone triangulation app??

Updated last night, well did a "restore and install".

Everything working great here.. not tested triangulation yet though :)

Your damn right it does. I don't have an iphone, but at the price your paying for the phone and contract, its a complete rip off. What a disgrace Apple.

It's 12.99£ for the iPod Touch add-on apps.

The iPhone has always had those apps.
