Not sure if any other bikers heard of these, but just ordered one from the states for my zx10

Instead of the usual 1/4 throttle turn to max throttle it will only be 1/5th, doesn't sound much but on a standard throttle it's very hard to rotate to max throttle without repositioning hand.

Reading about it's meant to make any fast sports bike feel like a monster, as you get get on the gas so easy... looking forward to fitting it.

The mod itself is a insert that goes into throttle twist grip... I'll post results once i have it and fitted.

I know a few who fitted RC45 throttles to Firestorms since it was a quick action throttle, but dont think it was 1/5 turn!!
That's a "real quick" action throttle

Trying to imagine what it would be like if you dropped a tooth at the front and went up 2 teeth at the back. would you be able to keep the front down in the first 4 gears? :D

So is it just control if you want to pootle along, surely it'll get annoying having to be so precise with the throttle orr not? :)

Thats what I was wondering.

Isn't there a similar thing for cars called sprint booster or something like that?

I cant see why anyone would develop one for cars as all you do is put your foot further down, but there probably is some poor one that someone makes in their shed selling on ebay fleecing people of money!

They are good. I put one on my old gixxer and I preferred it to stock. You'll get the uninformed people coming into this thread suggesting they are dangerous and make you more likely to lose control etc but they are the opposite. The adjustment is only slight, and allows better control of the bike as you dont have to adjust your hand once you want to pin it to the stop. Only bikers that have ridden quick bikes with and without one will understand the difference really. In no way did my bike become uncontrollable or lurchy with one and was completely controllable in traffic and in every other situation and was 100% better to ride. I'd fit one to every bike I buy in the future, but don't own at the mo.

Ah, that sounds like a good thing Flukey. I used to not like having to adjust my wrist to go full throttle and then back again for braking or whatnot.

ive got something similar to this on the VXR

the "Sport" button changes the ammount of electronic accelerator that is applied per mm travel on the pedal

loosely put, 3rd gear foot down about 1/3 on the pedal

engage sport and you suddenly start shooting off. Engage during acceleration for ultimate sensation of speed.

why would you want this on a car though, seems a bit pointless? just put your foot down some more :p

does make the car feel more responsive to your foot.

Plenty of people comment that they buy diesel for the mid range responsiveness and acceleration.

Well engage sport on the VXR and with 260 lb/ft under your right foot, you get just that.

With a nice V6 exhaust note instead of a tractor like rattle :D

Ah I see what you're saying, but doesnt a throttle body mean that less travel is required to open the throttle, though ultimately, I suppose the pedal still moves the same distance.

What?

It is a mod on the throttle, the thing you twist, not a throttle body. It just means you don't need to twist it so far to get full throttle.

where did this diesel slagging suddenly come from?
although to be fair, i still can't believe how loud my tractor is on cold mornings.
can't get over how quiet petrol cars are :o

I've been looking at these as well Fluke "Rifelmans"?

my only concern about using one is with the amount of dodgy roads (pot holes and dips due to subsidance) over here. it might make it a bit too Lively. we all know how easy it is the lift the front on the ZX10
