10.5.3 hows it for you?

Well everything works, thing is being without the thing for 10 days has made me forget everything that I had set or was or wasn't there before...

So for me, Im sitting on the fence for the moment lol

Time Machine is taking it's sweet time though... I thought I'd run it otherwise I'd just get a surprise at some point..

Just reading the Apple release notes.. under iCal I see they use "increases reliability" .. I know for certain that this patch fixes a "memory leak" in iCal.. so for all "increases reliability" bullet points I think we can translate that to "fixes one or more memory leaks".. :D

Slightly off topic, but read your robot thread the other night, NickK.

:eek::D

That thing is amazing. Much respect to you dude.. how did you get in to that?

I'm impressed - I've been hammering the crap out of it this evening and the active block has remained at a stable size!
With 10.5.2 I found that grew to 2GB quickly - even after a restart! :eek:

To be honest this bit isn't really rocket science. This is just the mechanism to allow me to visualise whilst attempting my ideas. The end result is that the cube you see now will be altered. Like a sculptor chiselling away at it so where there's nothing in the picture, there should be transparent space once I've finished as well as a 2D confidence terrain map.

It's finally clicked tonight - hence it's coloured right lol.. (400Kb png of the colour volume renders..)

Piccy 2

The second image is fun - it shows the desk as it disappears under the rover... including the IPA shadow and pen.. and the little arrows in the corner (I can add geometric shapes to visualise additional data as well. This renders in realtime currently (it'll slow with opacity and filtering applied).

The reason for the interest in the MacPro and 16GB pf RAM, SSDs etc.. is that on full res the system will have to cope with processing a lot of data.. 1280x1024x600.. that's 786,432,000 individual points that will need analysing etc if the rover travels 5 metres with an image every ~10 cm.

edit: pics work.. it's late...

10.5.3 fixed Eve Online :D

Going to test it with a few other things, I used to get the lack of network when waking up and occasionally when pluggin USB drives in the wireless would drop.

On 10.5.2 it would take about 5 minutes from clicking on the Eve app to get to the login screen and another few minutes to get to the character screen.

Now it loads instantly (as instantly as it can on a MBP) and frame rates are a bit higher, may have been a dodgy 10.5.2 upgrade?
