10.5.3 hows it for you?

Well I've just reinstalled this evening. Time Machine > * is all I can say :D

I didn't realise that you don't even get the rubbish MS trial on a pure leopard install.

All quickly back to normal :D
 
True that does backup over the air.. but I'd be tempted to look at Firewire 800 external drives too. It's actually very quick to use one (I use a WD MyBook Studio 1TB with about 350GB for TM).

I've also realised that reinstall has left me with 1/4 of my MBP's drive used.. whereas before it was 1/2!! (that's a normal install without printer or garage band pruning!)

I've always done a reinstall, even if the machine is new.

That way, you can choose the elements that are installed and you're usually only 1 major software-update behind the latest version. Add your apps, documents and music and you're up and running all fresh :D
 
As soon as I read that I tried to sync with my phone and it's broken. Stupid Apple! It did the same when updating to 10.5.2 as well. Haven't they heard of bug testing?! The way I fixed it the first time was to download the full update and install it again.
