£10 for 5 MW2 Maps LOL

Was a rip of price for the game, and especially now for the map pack... would be maybe worth while if a few maps wern't from CoD4... if you got new weapons maybe and some more single player stuff or something

I am not supprised by the cost of this map pack, it cost the same on Xbox 360 so they were always going to charge the same to PC gamers.

Any hope of free DLC from IW went out of the window when IWnet and no dedicated servers were announced before the game was released.

I paid £26 for MW2 on pre order and it's the game I've played the most since then. While I agree that IWnet and the lack of dedicated servers does ruin the game sometimes, with all the cheats and poor hosts, I can still get a decent game after a few attempts or when it picks me as the host since I have good a Quad cpu and 50 MB cable internet.

The thing that gets me is the way IW made out that IWnet was for our benefit and was somehow better than what we had before. When we all knew it there purely to sell DLC to PC gamers. I would have had a bit more respect for them if they had just told the truth.

I hope they dont do it the same as the xbox where you have to choose stimulus as a game mode, which will then only play these maps in a random game mode e.g. DM/TDM etc etc.

Sad to see this kind of thing, but you can't blame Activision for wanting to make money. They are a business after all, and the only people they owe anything to are their shareholders.

It's a shame when big business infects the things we love... but it always happens eventually.
Activision are already rolling around in more money than most other major publishers, thanks to Guitar Hero and of course Call of Duty.

I can't believe people are actually paying £10 (or the equivalent Xbox points) to buy this pack! No doubt, thousands of people are and thus letting Activision know they can carry on doing this :(

You had to be pretty silly to buy the game in the first place after they raised the price (and no, just because you bought it well below RRP from a supermarket as a loss-leader does not mean you didn't contribute to justifying their price increase).

But you have to be a complete moron to pay £10 for five maps, two of which are ported from the previous game. I also expect at least one of those three was probably going to be in the main MW2 game anyway and was cut back due to 'not being good enough' or held back to sell as DLC later.

All this and the game was actually pretty poor as well, especially if you look at multiplayer. No dedicated servers was and still is a completely ridiculous decision solely made to rip off the consumer by allowing them to give the game a finite life, restrict modding communities and sell rip off DLC.

Paid DLC map packs are truly awful for the gaming community. All they serve to do is divide any community the game had between those that paid an extortionate price and those that refused. But then ultimately, they don't really care if it does destroy the community as long as people buy it, since they'll be forcing a new CoD game down your throat every year until people finally wise up.

Why are so many companies so greedy and pathetic?

This sort of thing makes me sick, i actually feel disgusted and i don't think its too strong a word, im all for reasonable profits and pricing based on actual value but this sort of thing is just wrong and they don't care, trouble is idiots contribute to this sort of mentality by actually paying whatever they want, which just hurts us all in the long run.

At the end of the day i wouldn't pay for any small dlc no matter how much it costs, large addons are fine but not bite sized dlc as it's the principle of the thing, there are limits of reason and 5 maps even for a few quid is questionable, no good can come from it.

Oh well, I own the game, but don't think what I have was worth £40, let alone worth £10 for extra maps. Crash doesn't look any worse than it did in COD4 imo, but it doesn't look any better either. Gonna leave it I think...

iw/activision had to get valve to fix their game for them the other day for a vac module or something which was iw's responsibility, it just shows they dont care and just want to rake in the cash

Charging for DLC of this (read: poor) quality is terrible. 11-12 quid for 5 maps is pathetic.

I hope thats just a really poor screenshot because it looks worse than it did in MW.

That's an XBOX screeny, so yes it does look dreadful
