£100 off LG 34UC79G Freesync 1ms 144Hz Gaming Monitor with OCUK!

I tried to register my serial number but it didn't work. Maybe it was due to using the US site but I couldn't find it on the UK/GB site.

I have no idea how to use the trust function on this site either.

That way only works in the US (under terms and conditions).
I think we're lacking a 12 digit code to redeem the game at Ubisoft. Mine didn't come with one, and the 12 digit serial number doesn't work either.

Gsync - add 200 nvidia tax normally

If I get answer on code will order tomorrow and set it up Friday, just in time to spend months trying to get hold of new amd card

thanks all - anyone who didn't get one trust message me and i'll send them out prob tomorrow afternoon in the post as only just got back!

I think I managed to trust message you. I've never used it before so if you could confirm you received it I would be grateful. Thanks.

you wrote it on my profile rather than sending me an e-mail - I'll remember to check in here when getting envelopes written tomorrow!

Quick review.

Jesus the box is massive, as they came up the drive I was thinking "What Have I Done!"

I like a two monitor set up, so out went the Dell 23inch (Son is happy about that), the Acer 27 1440P is relegated to the 2nd monitor now

Chucked it together in 5 mins, no screwdriver necessary

Initial Impressions: Screen is actually well put together, everything seems substantial, no wobble, great up and down/tilt mechanism, even has a headphone hook at the back

Beautifully smooth, clear display, it's not 1440P, but even when running side by side against the 1440P 27inch you'd be hard pressed to tell in gaming, really pleased with purchase and next target is a Vega to make full use of the screen (Running a 390 does fine but need more FPS :) )

Highly recommended at £388

Hi Daniel , just received mine nice screen. I didn't realise there was no speakers integrated but that keeps the Mrs happy. Just wondering a couple of things.
Am i meant to have a code in my box ? and also the usb 3 cable for the hub is this supposed to be in the box or purchased separate ?

Was going to buy this, but bought the Samsung 24" VA 144hz Quantum Dot instead.

Mind if I ask why? PPI? I'm torn between this LG and the Samsung C27FG70 27" VA 144Hz Quantum dot and really need to make a decision soon. PPI and distance to screen (just under 2 foot) are my concerns over a 34" screen.

24" 1200p, 24" 1080p and 29" UW 1080p is pretty close between them
34" 1080p is around 81.

27" 1080p is around 81

I think 81 may be too low.

If you are looking at 27" I'd get a 1440p at 108ppi, or 32" 91ppi

From pictures I would not get IPS, with the backlight bleed. Also 29" LG UW is only 75hz. To get 144hz, you'd need the 34" 2560x1080 144hz, which is too low ppi (and if it was 95-100ppi then higher res, which means a better GPU is needed)

For desktop 34" 1080p UW is not enough, and for games it may be ok, but that means need some AA. Also whole point of geting bigger screen is more screen estate, if it's the same res as a lower monitor you'll see everything as you will on a smaller monitor, just means the things are bigger. So for games like Company of Heros a big screen , low resolution monitor is a bit stupid.

I'm used to 24" 1920x1200 16:10 so I would want to keep it around that ppi.

Plus whether UW is worth it, I do play some games that support UW

also cost, there's the new 27/32" VA samsung 144hz but you're looking at £600-£650, or the UW 34" about that, or more for 100hz..

I think similar size, similar ppi VA 144hz 125% gamut will be a upgrade over my TN 60hz.
