1080 to 2080 upgrade?

For clarity the £227 includes shipping costs so this is the total additional cost.

Addition cost for the 2080ti is an additional 350ish on top and 1080ti is currently unavailable.

For what it's worth I'm probably swaying towards keeping the 1080, in a couple of years time I feel it's inadequate then i can upgrade to a card which hopefully offers better value for money than the 20 series. Then I get to spend an extra £227 on a HTPC I don't need

Something doesn't add up then. If the 1080 cost you £495 and the 2080 is costing you £780, How can the total cost to upgrade only be £227?

Fat chance, if RTX2080 is tempting now he's never going to make it 5 years.

Haven't you read the thread? He bought the 1080 with the intention of stepping up if the 2080 cards were any good and keeping that card for 5 years. The problem he is having is that He doesn't think the new cards are worth the price for the performance.

You're correct. I messed up the euro to pound conversion. Reworked it and it would be an extra £278. Think thanks my decision made.
