You can check this on Google Shops. There's a well known retailer that also shows best sellers in a wide variety of categories, like CPUs.

The 10 core i9-10850K and 10900K are still selling in high quantities (more than the 11700k + 11900K). This makes sense, in many ways, I see them as superior to 8 core Rocketlake CPUs.

i9-10850K if priced the same at many places as the i7-11700k

so why is this a suprise ?

people look at bang for buck first

11700 / 11700K and 11900K all need to come down in price, no reason why they should cost any much than the 10700K.

10700K is arguably a better CPU than the 11700 (and costs less, especially 2nd hand), this CPU in particular should come down in price. Maybe Intel doesn't care if they take a hit this year? Or, they still have lots of Comet Lake leftover CPUs to sell.

I'm not optimistic that the 11900K will come down in price soon, but on the other hand, I think it's better that people avoid it, as it's just a bad design imo, with very little difference in it's specification vs the 11700K.

to be honest unless Iam looking to buy one not to fussed what the prices are

9th gen still seems to sell well

ryzen 3600 sells well

The 9900K (and other 9th gen CPUs) is a pretty bad idea, for a new build. It's more expensive than the better performing 10700K.

The Ryzen 3600 is still a fairly good CPU though.

People are buying Core i9 9900 series CPUs probably as many have 300 series motherboards, and are changing out the CPU. The Core i9 9900 non-K has been as low as £200.

WRT,with the Ryzen 5 3600,its too long in the tooth. The Core i5 10400 non-F has gone as low as £110~£120,and with a B560 motherboard should easily outpace a Ryzen 5 3600 in a gaming build. At this point it will be interesting to see if RKL prices are higher because of the CML stock which needs to be sold.

10400 with 3200 memory leaves the 3600 behind and has none of the little quirks they 3600 has in certain games mostly micro stutter

I guess the reason I wanted to find out if Comet Lake were generally still outselling Rocketlake, is that it shows if Intel can sell sidegrades as next gen products and still sell more than the last gen.

Usually, companies would avoid selling last gen products, as it's bad for business. Anyway, I'm glad that they aren't selling particularly well, although I think the Ryzen 5000 series has a lot to do with this.

Yep same at local store

10900k and it's variants are cheaper and perform the same or better, confirmed 10th gen is selling much better, 11th gen already put on discount to move stock.

but yeah when you can get the 10900k for $100 cheaper than the 11900k and have the same gaming performance and better work performance and keep your old board, it's a no brainer

Picked up a 10700, 16Gb of ram and a B460 ASUS Tuf for my fiancées PC which is showing it’s age, all of it for £270 pretty hard to argue with that kinda performance at that price.

These days Dave just posts the odd Intel related fanboy post and then he goes AWOL, he won't reply to anyone who replies to his post then few weeks later he'll pop up again to make another random post

Going to keep an eye out on if 10th gen prices drop, which is doubtful due to how well they are still selling.

I had actually paid £39.99 for my G4560 back when I got it, would like another such sub £50 CPU to put together a third functional box. Will pay more, under £100 for a decent quad core with iGPU, preferably £80 max.

Myself, I think I might try AMD in future, provided they don't get too hot.
