Also Does anyone no if you upgrade firmware do you need to reformat and install windows again.
And can you accidently do it wrong which would result in killing it.

Updating the drive firmware doesn't usually require an OS reinstall, but it's worth checking the associated readme.
I doubt you could do anything wrong when flashing to kill the drive, it's not like flashing a bios.

I went on device manager and went properties on the SSD. The hardware ID says 1.5 and HDTune said 1.5 as well, so I am assuming 1.5

Whilst my cpu is only a 3ghz core2duo, the pc feels like a new one now

I think so, does anyone know if there is a setting in win7 that I can check that it is enabled?

From either the ocz website or the ocz forums (can't remember which) TRIM is supported way before FW 1.5 (iirc of course).
