14 year old arrested for bringing in homemade clock

Any sympathy I had for the the guy has now evaporated now that he is milking it for all its worth (and a lot that it is not worth!).

I know,School was doing the right thing, police was doing the right thing..and now the kid wants compensation..pathetic.

i mean, hes smart..but what did he expect taking a box full of wires into a school looking like a bomb with everything that's going on.

I hope they don't give him anything,If this would have happened in the UK would have just gave him the money to avoid all the "racist" issue but i don't think the yanks are as daft as us.

Oh he will. He's already had about $100k of freebies, offers of education which most bright kids would dream of, he's famous and now the family have left the country, they are likely to get most of the $15m as well.

Well played sir, well played.

And so he should, this was a while ago, but wasn't his rights violated after the police did not follow procedure.

Edit - is this against the school, police or both?

Unless I'm misreading that someone said she said that. Not really the same thing. More helps his case I guess unless they have proof she actually did say that.

I got suspended from school for three days from this stupid same district, from this girl saying I wanted to blow up the school, something I had nothing to do with,

Edit: is that a typo "120-volt clock" what kind of clock needs 120v lol.

Obama, microsoft, zuckerberg, most of the western world, all taken for chumps.

When you take a remotely close look at the evidence it is abundantly clear that this kid knew exactly what he was doing, was probably put up to it by his dad, and should probably be actually arrested again for good.

Well, i've lost all respect for him now.

never had any for him in the first place and it's quite possible that this is what this was all leading up to in the first place.

the school and the cops have been 'played' - admittedly the cops did go a little overboard in the end but not 15million dollars worth overboard.

Not really. She is saying that to back up that the school's actions is racist. That they suspended her for a bomb threat on the basis that another girl said so and that she was innocent.

Shouldnt affect his claim at all negatively.

Yes really. Please read the link and the links in that.

"Lesley Weaver, a spokeswoman for the district, said school officials can’t release any information about the 18-year-old sister’s episode because the Sudanese parents won’t sign the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, The school has already sent the form to the immigrant Sudanese parents, but they won’t sign it, she said"

Having work for Pasco county school board the parents have put the school in a bad situation.

The story had a whiff about it from day 1, the whiff has only gone front strong to stronger.

I can't see him getting $15m surely. If he does then.... I don't know lol

America has punitive fines, which kind of makes sense in certain circumstances. So can't be seen like uk law. It means companies can't just pay there way out of small claims like in the uk.
And of course there's nothing to say they will get that, or that they would win.

Imo we should have similar in uk, when there's no other punishment, like jail time. Just the extra goes into the victim fund rather than to the person.
