147GTA

Lots of people will tell you it torque steers like a beast and has a bad tendency towards understeer (the engine is rather heavy and mounted well forward), Gilly *will* tell you it's hideously ugly, and Fox may comment on how it'll be bound to break down every other day :p

Personally though, I love them...great looks, great sound, and utterly silly - I must say I've never actually driven one though :o but they still hold a lot of appeal to me, just for what it is and how it looks.

Very much a love it or loathe it car though it seems- the reviews I've read in the press and from prospective owners seem to reflect this, the Telegraph called it the best Alfa in years, but I think Dolph on the forums here drove one and decried it as completely undriveable due to the way it struggles to get the power down cleanly? Seems to be a real disparity of views on how it is to drive, similar to the Astra VXR in some respects.

If there is one reason I would own an alfa of any type (after borrowing the alfa GTV pool car from work for a few weeks), it would be for the engine noise!

Beautiful.

147 doesnt do it for me styling wise, but the 156 GTA!!! /dribble/

They look "ok" from the front IMO, but the back is just wrong. I love the shape of the 156 saloon though, just seems to work better for me.

Teledial wheels though

They're both gorgeous!
Was that aimed at me? I wouldn't have either :)

I'd have them given, but I'd sell them and use the money for something else :p

I like the classics Alfas. I'm not against the badge, just anything they've created for the last decade or two.

If cars were women that Brera thing would be a butch broadbacked blonde with nasty roots.

Did an Alfa run you over as a child or something, the Brera is a seriously nice looking motor!

the brera looks nice from the front, but from the 3/4 panel back its terrible. stupid designers!

the 147's are more ming than a ming vase collection tbh.

Sorry, have to agree with Gilly here. The classics are nice cars. But anything in the last decade I woud only take as a gift. And that would be to sell on for the money.

They are BUTT ugly.

I can usually see what people are getting at if they think a car is ugly, even if i disagree. I can't, however, see how someone would think a 156 is butt ugly, sure they might think it's not as good looking as an e46 or a4, but butt ugly? eh?
